I would pick Tszyu by decision. You know this fight was supposed to happen and at Welterweight but didn't go through for some reason, it was rumored in 2006.
Do you think Tszyu being a natural jr welter had enough strength to hold off Antonio Margarito's relentess pressure for 12 rounds
I'm basing my pick on a prime Tszyu moving to Welterweight against this current version of Margarito. Tszyu had trouble with pressure fighters but MAYBE he will be able to pull this off by using some defense and outlanding Margarito. Not very confident with the prediction here but if Tszyu can use his boxing skills to his advantage and keep it up for 12 then he can win this by decision, if not then he probably gets stopped late.
Margarito would maul Tszyu. Just too big a size difference. Now put Tszyu against a bigger opponent with less of a chin and less stamina and I'd give him a chance. But not this guy.
That's kind of how I felt, Margarito would have too much physical strength and just run over Tszyu in the fight although Tszyu would still have his moments as he did posses a pretty good punch
good matchup that could go either way, tszyu is the more rounded fighter&has a bigger punch but margarito would be the stronger&bigger guy,ill say margo due to his size&workrate, kostya liked to dictate the pace of his fights&always did with a few exceptions(phillips, judah&hatton)but he wouldnt be able to against tony,so ill say tony tko 12
It's not just size it's also the constant pressure and stamina, size is of course a major advantage too but the pressure might eventually break Tszyu down if he starts to slow as the fight goes. I picked Tszyu to possibly take this by decision as he uses his boxing skills, not really confident about it and it could go either way. Advantage definitely to Margarito here.
If the fight was set to happen in 2006 at WW, I'd have picked Margarito by stoppage. Either way, Tszyu wasn't a WW, and stylistically Margarito would always have been bad for him.
