Margarito Was indeed Turning the Fight Around.

With the help of my friends, I can often be inadvertently funny.

Once again, this was fought with 10oz gloves and Cotto was moving the whole fight unlike the first. Those are two notable differences from the first fight.

And yes, I agree with with the TS, Cotto's body language and facial expressions were beginning to show signs of stress. Margarito was definitely beginning to get to Cotto as Steward and Kellerman both noted in round 6th or so. Margarito was definitely losing the fight, but in no way should that fight have been stopped. Morales' eye against Maidana was a lot worse than Margarito's and that fight was nowhere near close to being stopped.

The way I see it is that Cotto quit in their first fight and the Dr. stopped the second fight. Big difference and warrants a rubber match.

 

Margo had a surgically repaired eye socket AND eye. We don't yet know if there will be any additional lasting damage. I doubt the ring side physician gave a rats ass about who won the fight. His concern was Margo and his own ass if he made the wrong call too late.

 

Not only that, the doc could be seen and heard hovering over Margarito in between several rounds prior to the stoppage. He actually told him that the 9th was his last round.

The stoppage should have come as no surprise whatsoever.

yeah, margarito should have kept his right glove up from the start, but the mother****er kept his hands low and the cotto left was landing almost at will at the once-busted eye. good work, garcia, good work.

 

Cotto dominated that fight. Margarito may have been KO'd if they let the fight go on. It is so obvious I can't believe there is even a discussion about it.

It also made it very obvious that the first fight was won by margarito by cheating.

 

No one will give Cotto proper credit. **** them.

 

Losing every round and getting stopped means turning fight around thanks, didnt know this.

 

Cotto would have finished the fight same as rounds 1-9. Margarito was losing badly anyway he wasnt robbed of anything. He shouldnt have gotten hit so much if he only thought he was going to win in the last three rounds. Stupid thread.

 

Margarito was supposed to stop Cotto earlier this time around, but at the time of the stoppage in the second fight Cotto looked better than he did around the 8th round of the first fight. With better conditioning and tactics odds looked favorable for Cotto finish the fight with a points win rather than Margo stopping him. Unfortunately, the way the fight ended robbed both Margo (of his chance of stopping Cotto late), and Cotto (of finishing the fight himself).
