    In 2002, Margarito, the then WBO welterweight champion, publicly asked Mayorga, who held the WBC and WBA belts, for a unification. For whatever reason, the fight did not materialize.

    Who would've won this one? Both fighters had iron chins, aggresive fighting styles, huge cojones, and machismo...(whether or not Margarito had cement in his gloves pre-cotto??? answer: ????)

    margarito was a beast even the haters can not deny his iron chin it took 1000 shane mosley shots to get rid of margo he didn't even try to defend just to put it in perspective how hard shane hits shane hit mayweather once and Floyd nealy got knocked out it took 1000 shots form mosley to make margo buckle

    1000 Mosley shots is an exaggeration... Iron chin nonetheless.

    yes maybe but the shot he hit mayweather with margo was eating all night only after about 100 it took its effect

    Despite all the controversies regarding his hand-wraps, Margarito's iron chin truly cannot be denied. I'm glad you guys are in agreement with me on this one. Now on to the main question, who would've taken this one???:think

    Mayorga all day long!

    People forget the manacing whirlwind he was back then!

    He threw everything with everything all night and could do that for 12 rounds! His fitness was unbelievable!

    People also forget that Mayorga was a genuine top pound for pound fighter and an undisputed champion. The last undisputed champ at welter I think?

    Mayorga gets worn down. Neither of them would miss much, Margarito is much more durable and doesnt let up

    Yes . Past Prime Shane nearly ended their fight after just "1" punch . that fight proved to the world that Floyds chin/endurance is questionable .

    When it comes to Mayorga vs Margarito , I wont even dare to predict . That fight is a toss up and a garanteed classic before the first bell even rings .

    Both fighters have similarities , Perhaps Margarito has a higher workrate though....

    Never really cared much for Mayorga's style Tony pressure would grind him up on the inside & keep the pace at a rate Mayorga couldn't handle. Ricardo's power would be a non factor here... Late stoppage or 12UD for "El Tornado De Tijuana"

    this one would not go the distance, one will ware down. my guess would be the one with the best conditioning would win. they both had some tough beards. mayorga took some crazy shots from tito Trinidad and just kept coming. would be an all out war if you ask me..

    With bricks in Concreto's gloves it will be a close fight, without bricks Mayorga beats him.

    Margarito has always been a pile of shite. He got beat up by Daniel asantos for **** sakes! Mayorga would have ruined him!

    Mayorga was proven class. The last Undisputed welter weight champ of the world!

    Margarito is the last fighter to be caught with plaster in his wraps.....
