Margarito will KO Cotto if they fight

Cotto is better in every dept, the questions are can Margo connect with a big shot hurt Cotto and put him away, beacuse let me tell you what he cant do:
outbox, out jab or outslug Cotto. He is slower of hand and foot. He is tall and his body will be right there for the taking. The things Margo has going for him in this fight are height, chin, and workrate but he has to KO Cotto to win.

He also cant just open up full throttle or Cotto will crush him. Margo is too slow and has to be tactical, give away the early rounds and then come on strong trying to get Cotto late when he has slowed down. The problem with this is by then Cotto will have either pounded him severly or be so ahead on the cards that he can box and move his way by decision

 

Margarito will land a hard punch on Cotto and Cotto will go down. Will he stay down?

 

This is the funniest prediction all year.

 

I disagree with that. He has to put Cotto on his back foot right away and establish the pace. Cotto does most of his damage when he's able to push the other guy back. It's when his leadership is challenged that he has close calls.

Margo has the reach, power and chin to make Cotto fight off the back foot. And if he does that this fight is as good as done because Cotto is not defensively as sound as someone like Mayweather. He won't be able to handle Margo all night beating on him and his defense is leaky when he's going backwards. Plus that uppercut. That uppercut is going to be huge against Cotto.

 

There's more of a chance that the devil would get frosbite on his nuts, than margo beating Cotto. Miguel will make margo look like the Tiajuana Tomato:good

There's no way in hell that Miguel can avoid this one coming next. He can look for Mayorga but he never gonna get Mayweather before the end of the year...I have seen a lot of guys crossing their fingers and expecting Margo to lose by points to someone like Clottey, Williams, Cintron but Cotto has to take it now. Bob Arum is eager to make it happen and Tony has absolutely no problem in starting negotiations... Cotto may have that handspeed and skills but the baddest hispanic fighter out there is not him.

 

I agree with you 100%. Unfortunately, margo is very underrated in these boards and sometimes simply hated on (not sure why hate him if he always comes to fight, very entertaining, great heart, great chin, and ready to fight anyone anytime). Many here believed that cintron has improved enough not to just decision margo, but to KO him, where are they now?

i have nothing against cotto btw and love seeing him fight. he put one hell of a show tonight and seems to be improving his game every time he fights, I just think he'll get KTFO by margo

"Book it and lock it. Floyd has enough speed to run for 12 rounds, but shorty does not. Cotto's cute moves will work for awhile, and then Margo is going to slice through him in a way that will make Cotto retreating from Mosley's bodyshot in the 10th (9th?) look like nothing.

Please pass whatever your smoking to the lefthand side, because I'm sorry, but that has to be the most irrational and ignorant speculation to a fight of this magnitude, Cotto OUTCLASSES Margarito hands down in every category in the ring, Margarito's tough as concrete nails but Cotto hands out punishment like an Estwing Hammer on Labor Day, furthermore, Gomez has more tools than Margarito in the ring and we all saw what happened in that Masacre. Cotto gets the UD against Margarito in an entertaining, action packed throwback fight leaving no doubts about his punishing punching power, decieving hand speed, class "A" boxing abilities, his defense and his "suspect chin" that all his (beaten) opponents swore they would take advantage of and "test" his will. People, we are witnessing one of the Greats approaching his prime right in front of our eyes, so stop attempting to dictate "Destiny" and sit back and watch as boxing history is re-written once again, your watching a Legend in the making folks.
