Margarito will KO Cotto if they fight

great thing about all of this that this fight will very likely happen, both cotto and margo are willing to make it happen. the top of a devision going against each other is alweays great, especially with their styles which will guarantee an action packed night. Hope the other "champ" will start acting like one and fight the top of his devision.

I'm not saying Margarito wins but you are wrong to say Cotto is better in EVERY category.

 

Both fighters gonna be hurt, both fighters gonna received punishments . . . but Margarito will most likely receive more and will tire out faster so I see it as a decission or late T/KO win for Cotto.

Nobody has ever survive Cotto's punishments even during the times he was weigh drained trying to make 140.

 

cotto is vulnerable to that uppercut margarito throws, but i think cotto still takes it. we've seen cotto against a whole range of styles from slicksters to brawlers. i'd like to see how he fights against a bigger/stronger guy.

Cintoron does NOT punch harder than Cotto, his pysical features make him appear like hes dropping bombs, but he lacks the short compact and precision power that Cotto has...everyone is acting like Margarito's length and lankyness will win it, but Cotto's size and inside game will actually work in his favor. He will ware him down with the interior game until Margo is ripe for the taking...I really don't see this being as close as people say...I think that Margo will have to re-build his reputation after this fight.

 

Total war and wonderful style matchup. I hope there is enough time to heal Antonio's cut. They need a ref who isn't going to just stop it on that b.s. That cut will likely reopen at some point.

I see this fight as intriguing because Cotto has much better speed and power, but Margarito has the better height and reach and throws way more punches. Antonio is going to have to be willing to take a few and keep the pace going fast when Cotto tries to regroup and relax between combinations. Cotto likes to fire, then step off, relax, walk around and recharge. Most fighters allow him to do that because he chills them out with his power. Margarito needs to make him fight at a nonstop fast pace so that Cotto's power actually works against him over the long haul and makes him tired faster. If Margarito allows Cotto to set his own pace, take his breaks between combos, Cotto will just sharpshoot and outbox him, because he has the crisper and faster punches, and knows how to crouch and tuck and make it hard to be hit cleanly in return. Lucky for Antonio, it looks to me like he has a good looping overhand right and a wonderful left uppercut, the two punches that I think it will take to beat Cotto. IF he employs his usual nonstop aggression game plan, he will put himself in a good position to win, BUT Antonio will have to pay a bit more attention to his defense as he attacks, because he will get hit harder in that fight than he's ever been hit before.

Margarito could probably take a HW punch. Cotto would have to be cautious and outbox him.

 

Margos ability to take hard shots and return serious uppercuts will make it tough for Cotto to deliver the body attacks. Cotto is going to realy do some boxing to pull this one out. Remember how Zab caught Cotto and hurt him with those uppercuts? If those were Margos uppers Cotto would not of survived. It will not be an easy night fight for eaither fighter. But if Cotto engages in a toe to toe battle, that will make it easy for Margo.

I think Cintron is a better fighter than Gomez, Margarito showed more against Cintron than Miguel did against Gomez. it was Gomez first title fight! I can only see Cotto pulling out a decision on Margo, not a ko.

Very untrue. He almost lost to Lovemore N'dou. He had dished out everything and N'dou took over the last four rounds.

 

Maragrito has done nothing for me to show how he can beat Cotto (oh **** me he has height and reach), Cintron (his best win to date) is one of the most dumbest boxers ever, Cintron if he stayed on the outside would have at least scored more rounds, but the guy is so dumb that he thinks he can only rely on power, Cotto is on a whole different level to Cintron in terms of skill and cleverness, Margarito will have no answer but to go in widly looking to enage in a war and he will be dismantled by Cotto and Cotto will win a wide UD for me 118-110.

 

:good Agreed, Cotto is the total package and will work his body attack that Margo has never experienced. Speed and boxing ability is in Cotto's favor.
