I think he can, that doesn't mean he will but with the right tactics, the knowledge of what its like to be in the ring with him and possibly a better trainer tactically, he could definately do it

Normally fighters come back better in a rematch and I think Cotto will come back stronger in this one and try to land some big big shots early just like in the last fight but there is no doubt that he will still be on the move for the full 12 and anything can happen in a fight.

One man might pick up a cut early and that could throw them off their gameplan and they could end up fighting a totally different fight.

Cotto could come into the fight really fit and ready to go but who is to say that margarito would have not learned anything new defensively.

He might come in there already knowing he has made a man kneel and submit before him so there would be some serious mental demons for Cotto to get over.

Cotto and Cintron are 2 completely different fighters.

Cotto landing on Margarito was not big one punch knockout shots, he never had enough time to set his feet to throw those type of shots and when your on the move from round 1 and your throwing big shots you will get winded even sooner.

I can see Cotto outboxing Margarito but it all depends if Margarito allows him to because one thing I noticed that Margarito could have done a little more effectively is to step to the right more to do a better job of cutting the ring down. If he did that he could have got more success.

I believe the outcome to this fight boils down to whether Cotto can stay away for 12 and do his work effectively in and out as opposed to in Margarito's office which is up close, if he tries to stand and bang with Margarito he might find himself eating a big bodyshot and taking a knee.

I dont think Cotto's punch resistance would have improved, if anything I think he took a battering and he may end up taking another battering if he gets it all wrong again.

Everyone has a gameplan until they get it, then it all goes tits up from then. I say Margarito on a split decision by dominating from round 5 to round 12 again...

He might, but I doubt it. Cotto obviously isn't strong enough to bang with Margo on the inside, and he isn't a good enough of a boxer to keep away from him for a full 12 rounds... and now that Margo knows that Cotto can't hurt him he'd probably go into a rematch guns blazing right from the start like he did with Cintron, and if that happens Miguel would be KOed much quicker in a rematch.

He really did nail it - exactly how it happened. While not likely, I still think Cotto can win a rematch.

Its funny to see some of these old prediction threads/posts, especially when some were way off on this fight. Coming into this fight, I don't see how someone would have predicted Cotto dominating Margarito... I think that Alfanso Gomez fight had peaked Cotto's stock, and perhaps even his own ego, at the time.

Well Said, I had put $2000 on Margarito to win that fight by Stoppage as I saw too much vulnerability in previous Cotto fights that other fighters just failed to capitalise on and from following Margarito from his early fight days I knew that Margarito was the man to exploit those *****s in Cotto's armour.

With all that said and done the rematch I feel would be totally different and I think Cotto might start to use more clinching and holding, but I dont think that it is going to help him. I think Margarito is going to hunt him down like a dog and put him down.
