If it is up to Margie ....he won't do it.

When he went to Puerto Rico to support his friend Hugo Cazares....he was continually challenged and confronted regarding the rematch which he ignored.
The reporter then asked him and he stumbled for words...he said, " it is up to my promoter and team ".

Cotto is still the top draw....record $$$$ numbers were made and we assume the same for a rematch.

He was ahead on Judge Hamada's scorecard...( the same one who had
Katsidis ahead by 2 pts against Juan Diaz ) which was a joke.

Margie knows it was a much closer fight than what his nuthuggers want to believe.

He won't give Cotto a rematch even though Cotto has clearly expressed
a desire for a rematch of which he said will be a different night.

Margie you have been talking a lot of trash lately....
Step up and honor the former champion.

Cotto would have NEVER fought Marg if Arum didn tell him too. MArg is acting just like a Top Rank figter is suppose to. "Its up to my promoter..."

    no different then Cotto.

Who cares who was up on the cards..Cotto was STOPPED, HE QUIT :deal

Margarito will fight whoever his management and promoters want him to fight. He isn't afraid of anybody, especially a man he already put through the grinder, no disrespect to Miguel Cotto. I want to see a rematch as much as anybody else, but he has the right to fight new challengers before he steps in the ring with Cotto again.

Yeah, I'm sure Tony would never give Cotto a rematch.

I'm sure he'd rather sit around on the couch and do nothing, or fight guys like Joshua Clottey, Golden Johnson, Manuel Gomez, etc... for way less money.

You are starting to sound like the neckbreaker Bozo.

Cotto didn't quit because of Margies punch....his legs were gone of

which Cotto attributed to " Excessive Training "

    Dear Cotto nuthugger,

Margarito is under no obligation to offer Cotto a rematch 2 weeks after he fought him just because he and his fans want to avange their wounded pride. It's ok, Cotto got his manhood beaten out of him, he's a warrior and he'll recover. But he'll prob want a tune up fight or two himself before he gets into the ring with a guy that jast manhandled and squated him. Perhaps if Cotto can get a belt back and some force behing him again they can have a unification in late 09.

The fight was good enough that it could warrant an immediate rematch rather than "earning" a rematch.

But Cotto took a bad beating, and I don't think Top Rank is going to want to put him in there that soon again with Margarito after the punishment he took, in addition to the psychological effects it may have caused.
