I believe he will... Margo it's not the kind of fighter who will hide from a big fight for big $$$. Let's stop talking trash about this subject.

Margo got more money fighting Paul williams in the first fight, if he was a real man he would fight Paul again to try to avenge his defeat and unify the titles.

Marg knows that Cotto is a great fighter...Cotto's a good boxer and Marg knew the fight was close going in to the championship rounds. He also knew that he was begining to take the heart of Cotto and his punches were affecting Cotto more than Cotto's punches were affecting Marg. On paper the fight was very close, but people who saw the fight saw a better technical boxer buying time with his skills, but those who saw knew the inevitable was looming. Cotto was going to get KO'd just as we knew Zab was on his way out against Cotto. I'd like a rematch but unforutnately for Cotto he's not gonna win unless he is able to box for 12 rounds and fight the urges to engage with Tony.....which is the hardest fight for Cotto due to his strong roots and feeling of Pride.

I agree with thread stealer. I sometimes wonder why some people just can't see it from both sides. HBO obviously did not see the damage (physically and mentally) Cotto was absorbing from rd6 until the end unless they did not want to aknowledge fro whatever reasons. Still much respect for Cotto and Margarito.

Cotto was defeated plan and simple. I agree a rematch would be a big draw and another great fight but Margarito is not obligated to grant Cotto a rematch at least not now. Let Cotto win a few fights in impressive fashion to be the legit number 2 man at 147 then give him a rematch if Margo is still champ. I agree Cotto deserves a rematch but it is not needed at this point. Margo should have 2 more defenses against guys like Williams and maybe an Andre Berto if hes ready next year. Cotto is still young enough to have another great run in him so let him win a few comback fights then give him a return at the titles at 147. I think these 2 will meet again, almost certain of it if Margo can remain champion for another 2 years.

It's funny how people make it sound like Cotto was completely outclassed and simply demolished by margo and forget Cotto practically swept the first 5 rounds. I give Margo all the credit in the world. He is a true Champion and fought like one. He wouldn't take no for an answer even when Cotto was destroying his face with five punches so margo could land one. It was a good fight and there was a clear and decisive ending, but it was also pretty clear to most people that the fight and cotto's decision to "quit" was partially due to his fatigue. Yes, Marg's pressure obviously contributed to his fatigue, but it was fatigue that ultimately got the best of Cotto. A rematch is really the only fight that makes sense for either fighter. I mean yea cotto could beat up on some of the lesser opponents in the division, but I think its clear to most people he and Marg are stil 1 & 2 in the division. The fight would make the most financial sense and the most sense as far as what the people want to see. I just really don't understand why everyone is simply writing Cotto off. I mean he could probably go on and take the rest of the belts in the division in under two years if he wanted. He is still a great fighter.

If that's the impression given from these interviews...it may be that Margorito didn't want to insult the Puerto Rican people by being truthful...and that truth is that Cotto isn't thinking about a rematch right now.

Hell, when asked Cotto said "If the people want it."

That doesn't sound like the words of fighter dying to avenge a loss. I don't think Margo is against a rematch...it helps him avoid Paul Williams.

If Cotto has spoken more vigorously about a rematch lately...rather than talk ****,someone please post it.

Cotto got himself busted up bad then looked to his corner to end it. No shame in that it was over for him. Rematch. No way.

Well put my friend. I'm sure Margarito will give Cotto a rematch when Cotto is ready and it will be another great fight.
