Its funny how Margarito is avoiding the biggest purse of his career and the chance to avenge the last loss on his record. It was stated by promoter Dan Goosen that he gave Margarito the biggest purse of his career to date and has offered him 4m for a rematch.

As much as I would like to see it ... there really isn't a reason why Margarito should give Cotto a second chance, more than likely it would be a gross replay of their first fight. Another loss rather it be KO or decision could hurt Cotto's career and future earnings.

All very good points. I still think Cotto is a bad mother****er, but I dont like his chances. Am I going to say he has no chance at all? No. But I feel that his winning a rematch is unlikely. But definately not out of the realm of possability. The above points would definately help . Implementation of points 3,4 and 5 might be tough since Margo is good at protecting his body, avoiding clinches and backing him up or trying to would take its toll; not to mention leaving him open for a counter uppercut. I want to see how Cotto performs after this loss. Can I assume that both he and Margo will have a fight or 2 between their rematch?

Now that it's official both are planned to fight if they win their next fights I can't understand why Margarito won't give Cotto a rematch. For all Margarito cares this could be a big pay-day with an even easier or quicker result.

Disagree he didn't figh the perfect fight, he fought off the back foot, punches aren't as hard that way. it went wrong in a number of ways.

May have had his nose busted in rd2
Margo set the tempo and closed the distance, all the while hitting Cotto's body
He never tried to back Margo up (maybe he was unable, we don't know as we weren't actually in the ring) I made a post on these things.

Actually, Manny Stewart broke this fight down as early as the second round, as to the tempo tactics and what was too happen.

I give Margo all the credit as I thought Cotto would be the stronger guy. He wasn't.

    Good Counter points,

I honestly dont know how good Margo is at protecting his body, guess the popular theory was that Cotto would be able to attack Margo there.

I think he (Cotto) can clinch at times but another good point, Margo's Strength and counter upercuts.

On backing him up , I mean Cotto pressing him when Margo resets, as opposed to trying to fight like Mayweather. Agree that Margo's Strength and counter upercuts may not make that work, but hell worth a try.

As I said these changes may help, but who knows about the mental part, and that Margo is just the wrong guy for Cotto. :D

It is your opinion versus Cottos public request for the rematch.

Knowing Cotto .....I prefer to believe him before you.

My main concern is his mentality. I think he will be ok, but i wanna see him in with someone soon.

I agree with this and I'm a proud Cotto nuthugger. :hail

Also there are other fighters out there that deserve a shot, namely Williams and to a lesser extent, Clottey,

Well that opinion makes more sense . . . than your opinion "that Margarito won't give Cotto a rematch". :yep

After that beating Cotto got . . . it's more logical to think that the guy doesn't want Margo anymore. :deal

Cotto has publicly requested the rematch so who are you to speak for him?

    em

What has an opinion got to do versus someones' own words of which you are attempting to manipulate.

When someone speaks don't try to speak for them...that is improper...didn't you learn that growing up?
