True, Margarito isn't a natural Middleweight like Paul Williams. That's obvious.

I don't think it will happen at all to be honest, Margarito's next 8 MONTHS are already planned out, that's like half of next year already booked and his plans seem to show ZERO interest in avenging a man who already beat him and proved he's better than him in a division he calls HIS.

 

margo/williams is a style fight. it's hard to say who's better. head to head? williams. I consider cotto to have more skills than both but can't beat margo...ever. i think margo will build his confidence and fight williams but he'll need a much different strategy

So, you are right, he wouldn't have gotten an early KO, but He more than likely would have a late stoppage. That is his stlye.

 

well the cotto matchup is june and another fight is scheduled before the cotto match say in January against a opponent who will most likely not be williams (maybe josh clottey since that fight was suppose to be scheduled nov). I can see it being cotto-berto and margarito-clottey in a co feature that leads to the rematch in june.

 

It's supposed to be Shane Mosley if all goes according to plan.

 

Shane Mosley in January from what I hear then maybe Cotto in June if Miguel wins in Feb. against someone like Clottey or Berto.

He may also have to fight his mandatory who is the current WBA interim champ before too long.

 

I agree. Kolle isn't a WW so Margo has no chance because he wouldn't have the balls to fight him.

 

I think the williams margo rematch will go the same way w/ paul
pot shotting margo on the outside. Margo is no kolle, and the minnesota
kid is a small weak middleweight anyway. He doesn't hit as hard nor takes as good of a punch as margo. Tony will always be too strong to fall to williams, but the height, speed, and volume punching from paul will always SCORE him the winner over tony.

 

Maybe not Kolle (who knows, really), but I bet if Margarito wanted to move-up to MW or LMW, his manager would be able to find a guy with a decent record that he could KO in a couple of rounds. This was a showcase fight for Williams, and it proves nothing.

 

Hard to tell what would happen in a "what if" scenario like this, but I think you make a good point. If Margo stopped him, it would most likely be after several rounds of accumulation.
