Margarito - "what Puerto Ricans lack Mexicans have to much of, heart" Of course I'm sure he was referring to the boxing world, what do you guys make of this? True or Blanket statement made because of his experience?(Boxing World)
I don't think generalizing should be accepted by any reasonable fan, but it's pretty obvious Cintron does not have the cojones nor the heart of Antonio Margarito. You can't say Cotto doesn't have heart though, his heart is as big as anyones in boxing.
Cottos toughness is overrated. Quit against Margarito and running scared against Pac and Clottey. There are tons of fighters with more heart than Cotto and still everyone keeps praising Cottos heart.. atsch
As a huge cotto fan I can't comment with out feeling the fact that I'm a huge is getting in the way...
you gotta like tony tho....... even tho he's a cheating **** he is funny ......and ........ comes to fight in every fight ! i thought he was funny in 24/7 michelle was tidy an'all
Well its actually true,,but Ricans shouldnt be offended... I thnk for the most part that goes with everyone.. Its not that they dont have heart, its just that Mexcans seem to have a little more... Hate to generalize, because i can list fighters all day with big heart and balls of all races Holyfield,Gatti,Ward,Graziano,Ali,Fraizer,Graziano,Zale,Marciano,.... But with Mexican fighters its a regular thing.......
Many mexicans dismiss chicanos too, and the vast majority of chicanos are ****ing tough. It's just a pride thing, and I agree, mexicans tend to go out on their shields, just because thats natural and expected out of them.
I agree.. Chicano fighters do have a lot of heart...But on average there styles are a litle diffferent....Chicano fighters style is a combo of Americn and Mexicano. More Boxer/Puncher, so although always ready for a brawl.. THat isnt always the first resort. Obviously there are exeptions.... But think about it for the most part this is true...Alot of Chicanos fought in the US amatuer circut and adapted that style... But back in their home gyms learned from many Mexcian trainers, and have that never say die mentality too.... Vargas,Delahoya,Canizales,Chacon,Tapia,Chicanito,Ortiz,Guerrero,ORtiz,Carbajal(early on),Tony Lopez,Paulie Ayala,Mares,Mikey-RObert Garcia and even Rios, etc etc and most world class Chicano fighters all fit the descripition,as guys with very good boxing skills, who also were down for a slugfest.
youre an idiot..... he went 11 rounds and took a ****ing beating This content is protected someone who quits is the guy in your avatar....a ***** he gave up on a fight, and ran...know the difference in one quitting is... atsch
In the Mexican vs Puerto Rican wars, when the Mexicans have came out on top, it's usually been due to their will and heart. When the Boricuas have taken it, it been due to skill. So, I kinda see what Tony is trying to say.
True but he did give up on his knees... also Juanma went out like a warrior never let down, balls to the wall, going out shooting. I liked that. I can't say the same for Calderon and Cotto... Cotto did withstand the punishment from cheato but I did not like the knee ****... never kneel down to another man I would have wished he went out like Juanma that dude had balls and heart.
Not in the too biggest Mexican over PR wins. Salvador Sanchez dominated and outclassed Gomez Chavez did the same thing with Rosario Delahoya pretty much boxed Trinidads ears off only to get ripped off.
gerald mcclellan was on his knee too when his brain exploded...when you take a pounding like he did (cotto) he may not even been straight on the count, where he was at, hs legs may not have reacted to his brain...his beating was 10 times worse than JML
