Why do people still care about Margarito. He sucked. He had no skills whatsoever, but he could take massive punsihment to the head. Eventually all those shots caught up to him, Mosley cracked his chin, and now's he's got nothing left. I never thought highly of the guy.

I'm not making the argument that they were legal.
I think everyone agrees they were illegal.

I'm trying to make the argument that Margarito may have not known what Capetillo was inserting in those pads, and I painted the scenario that happened with Richardson nitpicking at every move by Capetillo from the very start.

When BHS said that during the course of the fight how could Margarito not know something was happeing, that you feel the heat from the plastermix hardening.......I described a process and scenario in which he might not feel what he stated the heat thats felt when Plaster hardens.

I've done some plastering and drywalling in the past, so I certainly know what BHS was talking about when he said that plaster mix heats up......and when you touch it during the process, absolutely you can feel the heat when the substance is in the process of hardening.
.....when it completely hardens, it cools off and just becomes a hard object.

First off, Margarito never fought with the knucklepads.......but had he done so, he might have not felt the chemical reaction and the heating process because the one, there may not have been enough plaster substance there for Margarito to have felt the heat, and 2nd, the knucklepad in question was already used, and I'll correct you Eze, it was stated by some in the hearing including an inspector that to him it was firm, but not hard.

I know, I know, its still an illegal knucklepad regardless.....but my suggestion is that those knucklepads may have not been hard enough for Margarito to feel under the gauze that already had been applied to his hand before those knucklepads were inserted over his knuckle area.

My assertion is that no one can really claim that "absolutely, Margarito must have felt those knucklepads abnormal over his knuckles."

.......and again here, Shane Mosley stated that he felt the knucklepads with his hands and they felt normal to him.
Either Shane's a liar, or his dad who's mostly been his trainer has plastered Shanes knucklepads in the past so that now Shane deems the touch on them normal.:think

Again, I'm debating that there is a good chance that Margarito did not know the knucklepads were illegal.
Alot of the facts of this case point to that he may not have known.....including some of the testimony from the inspectors themselves......this being the case, a good argument exists for giving Margarito a 2nd chance, and giving him the benefit of the doubt.

Again, if Margarito has been living off of beating fighters with loaded wraps, he's going to pay dearly for that now that his wraps are not going to be loaded.

Oh, and I forgot to mention when Capetillo said that the knucklepads were pre-treated......

.....at the hearing it meant that he brought in the knucklepads already made from home.

In Nevada the rules are that you have to use all the material only provided by the inspector.....so in that case, Capetillo would have to take the time to make the knucklepad in the presence of the inpector.
In California the trainer brings in his own tape and gauze, so that is the reason why Capetillo had the knucklepads already made.

Let me add and point out how inept the CSAC is........
The CSAC when the illegal knucklepads were discovered, confiscated them......

Why they did'nt confiscate Capetillo's whole bag that contained the gauze, tape, knucklepads, scissors, etc......is beyond me.
Capetillo at the hearing defended himself that he was rattled by Richardson dictating to them how to wrap Margarito that he got rattled and reached into his bag not noticing he had pullled out the wrong knucklepads........

Had Capetillo's whole bag been confiscated, we may have found out whether or not there were legit and clean knucklepads in his bag as he claims.

.....but it never occured to the inspectors including a chief inspector at the scene to confiscate the bag in which Capetillo was pulling his materials out of.

Thats too bad, that bag could have cleared or convicted both Margarito and Capetillo.

I'd be more apt to forgive Margarito if he just owned up to knowingly cheating, rather than trying to pretend he didn't know, which is a ****ing joke. The hell with Rockgloves.

Yep. If he fights anyone who can bang, expect him to get stretched out again. His chin truly has been cracked.
