MARGARITO'S & HAYE's INJURIES - These guys should NOT be fighting! Help me stop them

I've got to be honest with you guys. The upcoming Cotto - Margarito rematch and the proposed fight between Vitali and David Haye are making me feel rather uneasy as a true boxing fan.

In both cases we have two brave warriors with a never say die mentality in the ring. However, as much as I respect this attitude I sometimes feel that it is these kind of fighters who most need protecting from themselves. For me, this is never more true than in the fights mentioned in this thread.

I feel that the injuries suffered to Margarito's eye in the Pacquiao fight and Haye's toe in the build up for his showdown with Wlad are being downplayed by both the fighters themselves and the promoters who stand to profit from the fights. I harbour a real fear that they could ultimately lead to each fighter recieving even more punishment and long term damage if they be allowed to fight. Especially as both men would sooner die in the ring (or worse) than quit.

The damage to AM's eye means that he won't see punches coming, causing be able to Cotto to land even more blows to his already weakened orbital bone and rodent-like Mexican face.

Likewise, the horrific damage to Haye's toe will mean that his movement is severely limited and prevent it from being like the matrix in there. I for one don't want to see a usually immense slick-black fighter reduced to hobbling round the ring taking unnecessary abuse from a lumbersome Russian robot.

I'm not claiming I have the answers, but I would like some. What can we do to protect these fighters?

Can we petition the bodies to revoke these fighters' licenses?

Does anyone with strong influencing and negotiation skills think they can talk the fighters into retirement?

I don't really know how to end this thread, so I will just let the pictures speak for themselves and hope that you guys do the right thing.

In the words of Manny Pacquaio "Boxing is not for killing each other. It's nothing personal, I'm just doing my job"

WARNING: If you are sqeamish, look away now.

He might need to amputate his right leg from the knee down if this injury is getting any worse :think
Is Haye currently in a wheelchair, or is he already able to walk with crutches?

Haye is a joke, I dont think he deserves a match with Vitali, but hope he gets destroyed if it happens. They should fight in England too. The fans there are off the chain...

How bad is his eye really?

Yes it looks a little weird, but is his eyesight poor?

Unless his eyesight is poor I dont see why its an issue. Otherwise iuts just an asthetic injury.

Margo's eye looks like a glass one, could pop out any minute. Still rooting for him though on the 3rd

Its not so much the addition of just the pizza that brought me close to crapping my pants in laughter, I really love the way the glasses stayed on, and the way in which the wolves are now howling at "Shaun's face." 10/10.

Nonsense. Are you suggesting that you are better informed than a leading eye surgeon ,Dr. Crandall? How many football and hockey players are allowed to participate in the same state and ply their trade unecumbered despite the FACT they they have suffered numerous concussions.
Your opinion is respected but that does not make it correct.Todays technology is very advanced especially in the medical and science fields and just because we don't understand it,we should not disbelieve it's conclusions.
