No, I agree, nothing that happened tonight takes away from Antonio's chin. It just elevates how hard Mosley can punch when allowed to do it over the span of a fight. Any welterweight alive would have went down had they taken those shots from Mosley tonight.
:roflatsch Uh, no it is not Iron. Fighters with Iron Chins don't get knocked silly by over the hill 37 tear old fighters. Margarito is a cheating disgrace.
I have always said Mosley hits harder than Cotto, and was often ridiculed for such assertions. I think this seals it, although I admit, I was surprised by the way Shane consistently loaded up. Talk about turning back the clock... Awesome showing! :smoke
i don't know that was a hell of a beating that Margo took, so I am going to say his chin is still iron, but man do I doubt he is going to be the same after that ass whooping.
I still think Cotto gots more pop then Mosley, just doesn't have the same stamina as Mosley. Once they confirm the substance we can also speculate that Cotto would have been in better shape to finish the round and since Margo would have less pop we can also say that Cotto would have done more damage on Margo since he wouldn't have gotten hurt as quickly. All speculation mind you, but damn is Margo tainted due to these allegation or what?
theres no such thing as an iron chin, margo can take a good punch.but from a powerful skilled explosive ? come on he cant take them all night. he has a great chin but theres no Iron in it at all, just bone!
Margo has a great chin. But this is what happens when you get hit hard and consistently. Margo is a 1 dimensional fighter who can only walk forward in straight lines and throw the 1 2 and body shot. He`s like welter weights Kelly Pavlik. Shane ALWAYS excells when met in the centre of the ring. He has a great chin and great punch and fast hands. Speed always kills.
It was accumulation of punches, like PacMan-Morales. Margarito ate dozens of clean knockout-type punches and never was hurt until Shane took away his speed, legs, defense. Very good chin. But vs. accumulation of huge punches, even a great chin is not enough.
He has a great chin but when you get hit that many times with flush shots its bound to take its toll.
Got to disagree with you there. Cotto took a hell of a beating from Tony. He threw everything he had at him but couldn't put him down. That fight inflicted some deep psychological damage on Cotto. If they were to step into a ring again i'd pick Tony 99 times out of 100
