Great news. Never want a fighter to suffer permanent damage. Well, except Floyd Mayweather Junior. :hey:hey:hey:hey:hey:hey
I dont think his eye was the major problem, I think its going to be his brain in a few years, and I say that with concern, not lightly. I think Margarito should call it a career, he just made bank and could live happily ever after, have a farewell fight in mexico and retire with a W. Wont happen though.
That being said, glad to hear it went well. Warriors like Margarito always have a spot in my heart, they are one of the main reasons I love boxing.
That dude has ****ing heart. I'm sure he was hoping the get KOed, because his never saw quit attitude led him into getting his face wrekcked and being KOed would have been an easy way out without losing your self respect.
I agree, a KO would have probably been better for him. Thing is, he could have told the DR the wrong number of fingers or say he couldnt see and they would have stopped the fight. It is actually amazing the amount of heart Margarito showed given the chances he had to bow out with dignity there. If he would have told himself hey, he did his best, his eye is ****ed, ect, ect.... and simply told the ref he had trouble seeing, and couldnt make out his fingers, he would have had his out. But instead, he sucked it up and answered the ref as quickly as he could. Unbelievable.
