Hernandez is an ATG at 130 with many title defenses. An underrated win.

I say that Margarito's win over Cotto is at the same level, or better, than Mayweather's wins. Mayweather, in overall accomplishments, obviously crushed Margarito.

It doesn't rank better period. When has Cotto ever fought for a belt that he didn't have handed to him. Cotto is a good boxer with solid skills but like I said before he never beat a champ of any division and never out right won a belt. You can't say the same for Hatton, JLC or Chico who beat the man in their division. Chico was rated on the P4P lists a KO artist and was favored over him. IMO JLC and Chico are cleary better fighters than Cotto with only Hatton being in question.

But Margo isn“t done... and Mayweather may not be either.

Reg good point about Cotto and where he goes from here dictating a part of the answer to this question.

I dont know alot of people would probally take Hatton to beat Cotto.

I think its crazy that people are comparing Floyds Resume to Margaritos

    Hatton
    Dela Hoya
    Baldomir
    Zab Judah
    Sharmba Mitchell
    Gatti
    Corley
    Castillo x 2
    Hernandez
    Chavez
    Corrales

    All good or great fighters

Compare this to Margaritos, bearing in mind Margaritos had more fights than Floyd

    Cotto
    Cintron x 2
    Clottey

:hey I always find it amusing when somebody goes into a Mayweather Jr discussion with Floyd as there avatar.

I think Cotto is a better fighter than anybody Floyd has ever faced, and will prove it when he bounces back.

This thread was clearly about single wins, not comprehensive resumes.

    Cotto

I don't know, I'm kind of leading towards Margarito.

Hatton at 147, come on man don't give us that ****. How on earth is that even debateable? A guy that went life and death previously with Luis Collazo as an indication to his ability at welter is supposed to be in some way comparable to a guy that beat Mosley/Judah/Quintana?

    Undermines the post completely.

I am nearly positive that Cotto was fighting better than the other two. I would actually pick Castillo as the man fighting on the higher level than Corrales.

I don't think he'll have the career of a Oscar or even G.Hernandez two legitmate ATGs. I'm sorry Margo's win while impressive is definitely not better than any win on PBF's resume and it's ridiculous to even suggest it.

People are forgetting just how spectacular Cotto looked in the first six rounds of the fight. He looked like the best fighter in the world countering off of the ropes, and landing flush on Margarito almost at will. But when your opponent is a terminator, you'll eventually get broken down. Cotto looked fantastic in there, and that's why the win is even more impressive. He beat Cotto's A game.
