Margaritos Win Over Cotto is Bigger Than Floyd Mayweathers Biggest Single Win?

Floyd Mayweather beat an old man Hoya, and barely, so don't go talking about the win as if he beat prime Hoya. He never beats prime Hoya at 147.

I've been scratching my head since saturday trying to figure out exactly who Cotto has beaten.I'm partially bold now but still I cant find anyone apart from a Judah who was hit on the balls many times and a very old Mosley who was actually cheated.

 

I think Miguel Cotto had a case to be top 3 at the time. Juan Manuel Marquez was third, and he was coming off a loss.

 

Yeah its pretty clear that your trying to discredit Floyd, its pitiful

Floyd is the better fighter, the general consensus between Boxing Fans

He is Retired.

Margo is a good fighter who just had a great win why do people keep comparing them, If they fight they will fight, your indirectly trying to convince people that Margarito is a more worthy boxer because you know Floyd is retired and might not come back. If he did come back maybe you would be able 2 hate on him a little bit more but until then youll have to keep drawing comparisons with your new idol.

 

Cotto has alot of solid wins on his resume. Judah and Mosley were his two good wins.

 

He also beat a past-prime Hernandez, good win for FLoyd but definitely overrated by his groupies!

 

Cotto is probably better than peak Corrales. Not as big of a puncher or as terrific on the inside as Corrales, but more solid all-around.

It's not a knock on Floyd though. He's had a great career of achievements.

Boxing's not just "Fighter A's best win vs. Fighter B's best win". Lennox Lewis doesn't have any win as good as beating an undefeated, 23 year old, P4P king Mike Tyson, but Lewis is light years ahead of Buster Douglas on the all-time scale.

Mayweather has a whole list of quality wins over champs and contenders. Margarito has a decent resume but considerably behind Mayweather.

 

A man who spent his career battling against nobodies isnt really a pound for pound guy.

 

Marquez was coming off a very close loss(many thought he won) against the no.2 guy at the time.

 

Carlos Quintana was undefeated, and has since defeated Paul Williams.

He stopped Zab Judah, whereas Mayweather wasn't capable.

He defeated Mosley, who despite being old, was coming off impressive victorys. In some way similar to old Hoya. Mosley had just as much of a case of winning this fight as Hoya did against Mayweather.

Now that you brouht it up, who did Mayweather beat at 147 to make him any better of a welterweight? Old Hoya (Mosley), Judah(Judah), Hatton(not as good as Quintana at 147). Don't mention the likes of Gatti or Baldomir.
