“ could you use a fresh gauze here please” that’s all the official had to say, sounds like Moseley trainer bullied the official in to going down the wrong road
Not going to go in depth as I have over the years, but for those who were not around back then, the commision inspectors who inspected the alleged knuckle pads in question said at the hearing the eventually suspended Margarito for 6 months or whatever it was, they testified that the knucklepads felt firm but not hard, which if you really think about it is consistent with an old knucklepad thats been re-used several times. There was never any real proof that the knucklepads contained plaster, the wrong that Margarito's handler made is that he used old guaze pads that were in his material bag. You can say that it was wrong to have used old knucklepads, but I will never buy that they contained plaster.
How can anyone explain how he IMMEDIATELY went from a menacing, punishing puncher to a ***** cat who couldn't bust a grape in high heels after his wraps were checked?
I didn't say he was a KO artist. I said that he was a punishing puncher pre Mosley. He beat the snot out his opponents.
Also used to throw 1000 + punches a fight..if you sit there and let him hit you it will probably hurt. Never seen the Garcia fight so can't comment on that one..but I do recall Manny saying his punches hurt... And cotto second time did what he should've done in the first ...stay away and outbox him..not sit on the ropes..anything after that I wouldn't really count cos he'd been out the ring 5 years
