Margo being on the Ring top 10 P4P list was a joke

Carlos Monzon never fought a guy more physical than him. Iron chin, big power, stamina for days. Marvin Hagler never fought a guy more physical than him. Again, iron jaw, good power and stamina for days. It's a part of boxing.

 

Once again you have posted with no substance. Nobody has criticised any fighters here for having a chin or having determination. If you can show me these posts where those attributes are criticised as I would like to see them.

 

You criticize guys like GGG and Margarito for having iron chins and winning through attrition.

Hagler faced Hamsho and Briscoe and boxed both of them. For that matter, Monzon stood off and boxed against Briscoe, too. Both Monzon and Hagler displayed infinitely more refinement in approach than Margarito did even at this best. C'mon now. Don't reach, tin. Use LaMotta or Fullmer instead if you need to draw historical comparisons (which wouldn't be altogether accurate, either).

 

GGG uses way more technique and refinement than Margo. Not sure he should be in the same sentence as Margo, either.

 

I used the comparison in that Margo beat a lot of guys who were better boxers than him through attrition/physicality, and the example of very recently GGG beat someone who was a better boxer (Brook) using those same attributes. There was no criticism, just saying how he won and the similarities in winning.

 

Margarito after he beat Cotto and before he tricked everybody, might have had an argument for a top 10 spot P4P, but since getting caught using old knuckle pads that were plastered up, his whole career is a big asterisk... like Pimp said, he's one of the biggest Frauds to ever get such a high ranking in the sport.

 

Yeah, but the margin of difference in terms of skill between GGG and Brook was much less than the margin between Cotto and Margarito is what I was trying to say. GGG's attack against Brook was a lot more polished than Margo's was on the night he defeated Cotto.
