Lampley was the only one really nuthugging and he still gave margo his props. To tell the truth margo wasn't doing **** for the first 6 rounds. Kellerman and steward kept saying cotto was landing the cleaner shots (which he was) BUT margo is walking through them and it would be interesting later on in the fight. kellerman and steward called it perfectly. And stfu calling cotto a hype job.

cotto quit in my book something a true champion never does. I felt he was much more than quitting, a quitter is not a true champ no matter what.

Margo was doing some good work before the 7th, although he was losing. The 2nd round was a good round for Tony. He landed some hard shots and drew blood. I remember him landing a nice long right hand to the Cotto's face which was the best punch of that round.

He was doing some good bodywork and slowly but surely applying damage to Cotto.

Lots of great champions have quit.

People expect fighters to have this "fight to the death" mentality, but they're human and nearly all of them have limits to what they will go through.

Corrales was an exception. I truly believe he was crazy enough to have died before quitting.

    Someone needs to go tell

    Morales
    Duran
    Vitali
    Kostya
    Chavez
    DLH
    Mike Tyson
Gerarld Mclellen (oh wait... he quit before he sustained even MORE damage in the benn fight, but hey, who cares right... hes not a true champion)

    That they werent 'true champs'

You people have wierd and warped perception of whats expected of a 'true champion', to get beat into a coma ala Burgos/diaz/gman instead of submit to defeat... otherwise they are not TRUE champions. lol...

    sad :-(

When one is beat into submission, and quits because they have nothing left... not when they still have one last ditch effort but they decide to just quit, but truly have done everything and have no more (which yes... a lot of those on the list havnt done) then they have every right to quit with respect.

Is cotto on the same level as a ward, vargas, ect in terms of blood and guts warrior? No... hes not. But hes hardly not a 'true champion' because of it eather.

You are truly ignorant and a moron for saying so :good

Take the same beating and see if you can last for 11 rounds...my guess...you go down crying inside 3 :deal

Ok. Lets say he quit. Let me say something here. I think Cotto won the first 6 rounds of that fight. He might have finished the fight. But no way he was going to win. By continuing he was risking permanent injury. That bleeding nose really hurt him. He couldn't even talk by the end of the third round. I don't think he worries much about reputation. He knows he will make more money if he keeps on boxing. He won't feed his kids with reputation. He wants the money. Boxers are much more smarter today than they used to be.
