    Except for me.

When Barrera lost to Pacquiao, I was devastated, but I still supported him.

When Mijares lost to Darchinyan, I still supported Mijares.

There are some fans who bail on fighters when they lose, but they are what I call "casual fans".

Anyhow, Margarito isn't getting knocked out by anybody at 147.

By the way, are you suggesting Margarito is "just a hype"? How disgraceful. What more does a boxer need to other than step in the ring with Miguel Cotto and stop him? Absolutely disgraceful.

My bad, Margarito isn't a hype job, but he's overrated & not what he says he is.
By the way, Mijares is still a top 10 p4p fighter if you base that off of the real p4p definition

That's cool. Like I say, you and Walk With Me are two of the smarter posters on this board. I don't always agree, but at least I respect you both.

Margarito said he was the best Welterweight in the world, and then proved it in the ring by beating "the man" at 147. People only changed their tune calling Williams "the man", in hindsight of Margarito's victory. I think fighters can get away with hyping themselves up slightly, when Mayweather was quoted as saying, "Im better than Muhammad Ali and Sugar Ray Robinson". You either agreed with that or forgave him. I'm hoping the latter.

Cristian Mijares can't really be considered top 10 material after being knocked out in the fashion he was. However, I appreciate you not speaking badly about him. I don't understand why grown men on the board speak in such negative ways about a fighter simply because he lost.

By the way, P4PBEST, you need to give up your hate campaign against Margarito. I don't know what has fueled it, but he gives us the fans exciting fights, and hasn't turned into a ducker over night. He has his reasons, he's coming off a huge knockout win over Cotto, so we should give him the benefit of the doubt.

If we talk p4p based on the real definition of p4p, Mijares is on that list. There's no doubt about that.

& today has been an attack by me, eze, pauliemayweather & walk wit me on Bazooka, thats why we've been really givin it to Margo today.

But Mijares is definetely on the p4p list.

I think I speak for walk wit me as well as myself when I say you're one of the smarter posters yourself. I admit sometimes I get too caught up with these posters that I personally think have dumb opinions. But at the end of the day, every opinion is right. But actually, I'm glad someone like you checked me because if not I would still be going at Bazooka til this moment. A real man can respect when another man is letting him know he's messing up, so I thank you Barber-ian. Much respect between us!

:good People think I'm Mexican. It's not even a conscious thing, honestly. I'll watch a fighter, love his style and attitude, then find out he's Mexican.

Anyhow, when it comes to Margarito, I'll stick up for him until he takes this declining fights thing much further. I can understand him declining Williams, who has been talking **** for so long, and the Mosley fight seeminly only became attractive once it was turned out. Fueled the fire, so to speak.

I have no issues with people having issues with Margarito's attitude, but these knee-jerk reactions are exaggerated. He's now a cherry picker, and afraid of Mosley apparently. It'd be interesting to find out whether the people who are saying such things actually believe it.

I suppose I should have gotten use to such talk having been on the boards for as long as I have.

    Kind regards. :good

Honestly, I disagree with all this "since I'm this race, I'll back the fighter of this race up" stuff. It's not about race, opinions should never be influenced by race, in or outside of boxing.

I completely agree, but I've been accused of being Mexican on more than three occasions.

They bring a style and attitude to the ring that I seem to be attracted to.

To each his own. Thats normal for someone to be attracted to a fighter because of their style. I like styles like Calderon, Mayweather, Hopkins, Winky. I like that "boxing is an art" style.

I agree, he know he would probably lose to PW and Clottey. I don't think Mosley can beat him at this point of his career. Just not busy enough for Margorita. So where are the people who said he would fight anybody, and never turn down a fight

His name is Antonio Margarito. :good

I think when people claimed Margarito would fight anybody, they meant he isn't afraid of anyone, and that still stands true - I believe. Fear being the reason for turning down fights with Williams and Mosley doesn't sound like the most logical explanation to me. Whether its because Margarito resents Williams and Golden Boy Promotions, or whether Antonio has another opponent in mind - it could be either one of those reasons, but I don't buy fear as an excuse. It's out of character.

Antonio knows he will have to fight sometime early next year, and I'm sure he will pick a suitable enough opponent. I promise however, if he chooses a nobody to fight, I may just change my tune about Margarito. Not before then, however.
