Margo decline SSM fight!!!

The smart posters should know that experienced guys like Margarito and Mosley aren't afraid of any fighter.

Posters can say it, but they probably don't believe it either.

 

I say it just to hype stuff up & keep things entertaining. Both guys you listed aren't afraid of anyone or eachother. I think the case for Margarito is that he knows he cannot afford to lose at this point in his career.

 

Well truth be told Margo rejected a fight with Shane years ago, fighting Santos instead. Not that Santos was a bad fighter but when you get a shot at fighting the guy who is seen as the very best in the game dont you have to take it???

Margo is a business first fighter, just like all other fighters, which I have no problem with, what I have a problem with is that he is full of sh*t and sell this crap about pride...I have been telling you guys all along that was bull****, the proof was there you Margo fans just would believe it, no matter what you were shown to prove it.

Then why not take the fight with Shane??? It would have paid him more then he made vs Cotto, and is in the same ballpark that a rematch will be worth...He did after all say that Shane was pissing his pants at the thought of fighting him.

He didnt take the fight because he didnt want to take a chance that isnt fighting for pride that is fighting for money...If he was fighting for Pride he would be doing every thing in his power to get Williams and Santos in the ring, but he isnt he is going after Cotto and Oscar...

Margarito has a lot of pride, as does all fighters who are used to winning. Him taking a break after fighting Williams, Cintron, Clottey and Cotto in the space of 2 years, is not something I'm going to hang him out to dry over. Margarito is a business first fighter, as it would seem, but not to the extent of robbing the fans of the competitive fights at 147. I expect Margarito to come out and announce an attractive fight in the new few months.

If he doesn't, then it would be an injustice.

 

How the **** should I know? If they think the fight is worth more then what is being offered, based on Shane's name ans history, why can't they look at other options. At least he still fights.

Pride and hype are things punks here always talk about as if they know what dictates what a fighter does. Get real man. Fanboys like to throw those types of words around, but they don't mean **** when it's the real fighter who has all the risk to lose.

And at his advancing age and especially with his style, he's probably looking at fights differently every year, as do ALL FIGHTERS as they get older.

But you are right, with his resume the last two years, WHO ELSE has done that? And yet, Margarito cannot get a break..because his promoter hyped him, or because he said things 2 years ago.

Under normal situation that would be fine, but this isnt normal because of the **** talking that he has been doing and the fact that HE was calling out shane not the other way around.

Now Im hearing out of the Margo camp this crap about they were just using Margo to bait Berto...That is bull****, because what would have happened if Margo was the pride first fighter that his fans and he claim to be, he would have took the fight and then Shane would have been stuck with the fight...NO Margo and his team are great at spinning sh*t..Margo is a business first fighter and you know what...He should be, becasue once he is out of boxing what the fuk are you guys that take so much in him claiming to be a PRIDE first fighter going to be?? On to the next guy.

I say to Margo get the most money you can, and get it fast...Just dont call anyone out that you dont intend on fighting, cuz that game you and Arum is playing is getting old.

 

I think comparing Margarito's situation to Mayweather's isn't correct either. Not to disrespect Mayweather, who was quite a talent at lightweight and below, but he never fought the who's who of 147, Margarito has.

If people were to list the best Welterweights in the world right now, if your going to include Williams who's moved up, it would be:

Paul Williams
Miguel Cotto
Joshua Clottey.

Margarito fought all three of them. I say give the man the benefit of the doubt, and just give him a little more time. I don't know, does that sound unreasonable, rather than calling him every name under the sun? :verysad

 

Which is the point that I have always made on these website....BUT if he dont want to fight guys then he shouldnt call them out..That is my only problem with what Margo is doing...Keep in mind that he pulled the same **** with Cotto which lead to his lost to Williams in the first place...

Its not Me claiming to know what he was thinking, Im saying what his people were saying and that is he was going to sit and wait for the Cotto fight...Im not making that stuff up.

 

A business first fighter who gave the fans one of the best fights of 2008 when he fought Miguel Cotto.
