I wouldn't say he would land so many shots... just that he would throw alot and the ones that did land would sting a far bit more than mosley and judahs. Just my opinion, still think Cotto does business in 10 rounds.
By making it a dirty fight, staying inside, not letting him breathe and bullying him into the ropes.......if he will get it done is another story.
Exactly Cotto's defense is more of a, lack of.. Margo will be able to hit him, how cleanly with him getting hit in return is the question.
I can see Margo getting in some shots against Cotto, but those whooping hooks and punches he throws won't land so well on him.. I see Cotto fighting off his back foot with accurate jabs and then working well on the inside, but will have to avoid those uppercuts.. I see Cotto wearing Margo down and getting a TKO in the later rounds.. Should be a good fight though.. Very entertaining
Cotto never intentionally tries to take an opponent out early. He's a much smarter fighter than that, and allows the fight to come to him (meaning he figures out his opponents, implements a cerebral gameplan, and adjusts when need be). We won't see him going right at Margarito looking for an early KO. Mark my words.
YEP I KNOW THAT MARGO IS GOING TO WIN THIS TRUST ME.AND PEOPLE THAT DONT KNOW THE MONSTER THAT MARGO IS.THEY WILL SEE HIM THAT NIGHT.**** I CANT WAIT:yep
The more I look at this fight the more I see Cotto winning a wide UD. Margo doesnt have a 1 punch KO per se, and he is a commulative damage puncher aswell. I think Cotto outboxes the brute.
That approach would be totally uncharacteristic of Cotto who comes out more as a methodical and patient boxer than a front runner.
WELL IF HE DOESN'T BEGAN EARLY COTTO.THEN HE WILL BE DEALING 2 TIME'S THE MONSTER THAT MARGO IS:admin
Don't confuse punching with authority with trying to intentionally KO guys early in fights. He invests in those hard shots to wear his opponents down late in fights. Against Gomez, he could be cocky, but we'll see him as serious as ever against Margarito. Agree with your last statement:good
I fail to see how getting past Margo would warrant a statement like "There's nobody stopping him". Williams, for one, lost to Quintana. Cotto's win over Mosley is far more significant than a win over Margarito. Unless, of course, "stopping" is understood as "losing by kayo"...
