Margo's power was there in Mosley fight too

I'm sure Lewis never felt a punch like he did till McCall. What does that mean?

 

Tony landed some good, clean shots to Shane. But Mosley was just faster than Margarito. Tony would land solid punches every now and again. But Shane was coming full-speed with vicious combinations. So yes, you can say Margarito's power was there. But Mosley fought the perfect fight.

 

Is this another excuse for margo?

I didn't see Margo land many substantial punches on Mosley at all. I think it would be hard to tell if his power was still there or not unless you were on the end of the punches. I read accounts from at least one previous sparring partner saying that Margo uses hardened knucklepads in sparring. I don't know how credible the guy is. I read it in another thread on this site. I love that clip of Marg v Mora sparring. Mora with his stupid flashy showpony moves get totally outworked and overwhelmed by Margarito.

 

Agree with the thread, I've said all along that Margo's shots weren't amped up because of what was in his gloves, he was never a concusive puncher, always an accumulation puncher, but he still hurt Mosley when he did land. Cotto would have lost regardless. If his gloves were heavily loaded then Cotto would have been ko'd in the 6th/7th, we all know Cotto's chinny after all

 

margo lied to the fans about his punching power because of those plasters, he made us fools with that baddest and most feared man image that he had. Baddest maybe for cheating the sport.

I bet yah he's not that really strong without those plaster, in fact i think he wouldn't stop golden johnson if not for those lol

miguel is chinny? he took all mosely shots, the one who knocked out the iron chin margarito. If cotto has a glass jaw he would've got knocked out a long time ago, he wasn't all that great with his defence.
