That stoppage was fine. Barrios was on his way down for a fourth time until the ref came in and then Barrios stepped away to the side. If the ref did not do that then Tank inevitably was just about to put him down again.

At no point did Barrios signal in any way that he still wanted to fight. He was done.

Personally, I think the ref should have given it a few more seconds for Tank to really thump him hard a few more times just so that nobody could even whisper any kinda ill will at Tank Davis getting the KO.

Anyway, the stoppage was fine. If it were not for the ref jumping in when he did, it would have been a lights out KO instead.

Sure Barrios recovered from 2 knockdowns in round 8 but 3 rounds later, he was obviously more battered and bruised, and being walked down by the MUCH smaller Tank Davis. In round 11, there was first a body shot knockdown and then a 4th "knockdown" when Barrios bum sat on the ropes. You could easily make this a standing eight count as well. Barrios was finished. No more fight left in him and Tank Davis was coming on strong, just like a Tank.

Overall, a true Gervonta 'Tank Davis show again. I hope be gets that PPV money like Floyd did.

 

You think Barios could have finished the round or come back? You are right, Barios was down on the cards. Can't say I agree with that. Need to watch it again.

 

You can ear mayweather saying "dont worry i got your back after the ninth round" sounded real fishy to me...but oh well davis disnt need the judges

 

Not surprised because while you could split the early rounds by mid way Tank took over the fight and won some rounds real big like 10-7 which can put you in a hole on the scorecards.

 

Tank did his thing. Hats off to Barrios for making it a tough fight.

 

No I don’t want to see Barrios brains scrambled. It was a good stoppage. I want to see Barrios come again and have a future.

 

Hmm. 96=92 is a little unfair to Barrios, I think, since I thought he won the first four and the ninth seemed clear, too... But the 3rd was pretty close and Davis landed the biggest shot. But there were at least four clear rounds for Mario, so that wider card seems...predictably off.
