Not only am I making it seem, he absolutely should have been behind on points. There's nothing remotely egregious about that comment. Most sensible truly posters had Saunders winning, also... my opinion as well as @IntentionalButt opinions in regards to scoring, do hold more weight than most. Sorry, it is what it is..Because the objective truth is, most fighters, much less fans, more often than not.... don't fully process what they're watching. For the record, many of the shots most of you think were connecting, were being caught on the forearms of Saunders, he was also blocking many up top. I guess you weren't perceptive enough to catch that. He started breaking down in the 8th because while Canelo was amping up the pressure, that's also usually when Saunders starts gassing adn he'd been doing far more work than usual up to that point. I never said Saunders would've won, we all know no matter what, that wouldn't have been the case. However, in a fight that close, it is pretty impossible to know how it would've played out. Canelo was really gunning for the KO hat round, because that's the round that he predicted he'd get the KO in. He wasn't taking advantage of prior work, he had a point he wanted to prove. But... what if that round took a lot out of him too? Nothing saying Saunders might not have came back and won another round or two, but still lost. However... it's a moot point, because we're talking about a P4P fighter with an excellent skillset. Of course he's skilled, but Kovalev was more skilled, and he needed power in that one to bail him out. Sometimes no matter how great the skillset may be, there's someone out there a little more skilled, and power makes the difference.

 

I'd like to smash you eyeball inside out and see how quickly you'd take a knee Poon, you'd be squalling your other eye out like a little girl. Then I'd roll on the floor laughing at you calling you a quitter.

 

There was nothing shameful about it at all. Still not sure what is so hard to process here for you. There's some eye injuries you can fight through, you knows... cracks in the orbital bone. His face was ****ing caved in, as in, floating bone fragments that could easily slice through his goddamn eye. Are you willing to lose an eye? Sure, people can brag all they want, and act hard, but gun to most people's heads, they aren't going to be willing to risk their vision, much less the eye itself. Look up Israel Vasquez. Then maybe all of this will end up making a lot more sense, then you might have a sense of true shame mocking a man for doing the only responsible thing he could. There's injuries, then there's quality of life altering injuries. This was the latter.
