According to mmarocks.pl Mariusz Pudzianowski 5-times World's Strongest Man signed a contract with Polish premier MMA organization KSW to make his MMA debut in December.
A 32-year-old from Biala Rawska has some martial arts background. Mariusz has been training Karate Kyokushin since 11, he also took up some boxing. He has already started training in Warsaw under Polish MMA pioneer Miroslaw Okninski.

His debut fight will be probably televised by one of the Polish major networks Polsat. Opponent has not yet been named, however KSW signed Polish heavyweight boxer Marcin Najman publicly challenged Mariusz.

KSW (Martial Arts Confrontation) is one of the biggest organizations in Europe. They run two or three shows a year and they have pretty good tv deal with Polsat and Polsat Sport. So far Mamed Khalidov has been their brightest star, however MMA is not really big here, so he is not so popular.

Pudzianowski debut should garner huge media attention in Poland. Mariusz is not only a great athlete, but also a celebrity. He nearly won "Dancing with the Stars" and has appeared in multiple Polish movies and tv shows.

What is his weight going to be? I doubt he could make 265.

He could probably cut to 265, if he is going to fight MMA i am sure he will need to do some conditioning.

He used to box but said he gave it up because he didn't like getting hit much. It was tongue in cheek. He is unbelievably strong. He got done for doping but he is such a physical specimen that I think without the dope he is by far the strongest man in the world.

He has some stand up with the boxing and karate. I'd love to see him he could nurture his strength into good wrestling.

He'll have to lose some serious bulk though.

If Wiki is right he is listed as 286. If he maintains that weight he can cut. If he had proper tech. he could really toss people like a rag doll

When he starts doing conditioning the weight will fly off me thinks. Let's see him run 5 miles a day and the muscle will disappear. I'm sure he could cut a decent amount.

This is true. But Mariusz is a truly rare exception. This is a man who competes as a strong man and yet boasts a BF of at least 9-10%. Thats is beyond extraordinary. His conditioning and athleticism for a man who boasts sooo much dense musculature as a strongman apart from being very unusual is unique. The great thing about Mariusz is that he has ALOT of functional strength. How that can be translated into MMA remains to be seen.

I doubt it will. Mariusz despite being close to 300lbs already has a very low BF for a man of his size. The only way he looses weight is if he goes catabolic. That may not be a good idea for him. That being said he's spent a lifetime on hormones. His muscles will atrophy naturally once he comes off them.

I hope he translates all of it.
