Marjohn Kiunisala Yap vs. Takuma Inoue RBR

If only this had been part of the WBSS tourney, we could've been all but guaranteed a nice crisp stable YouTube stream.

 

Hell, I'll do it (a professional as hell job, too, I have loads of AV experience) just for the airfare to Osaka and room & board crashing on Marjohn's couch!!

 

So that means Inoue will be on the shelf until well into 2019...

Oubaali vs. Warren is supposed to be next month (although not made official yet) and the winner then would presumably fight Petch around December/January at the absolute earliest...

 

Well, as the president of the Yap fan club, Western chapter - I'm just glad he ran the kid pretty damn close, from the sound of it (and from the chunk we got to see in the first third-plus of the match...although random Tweets from Japanese viewers seem to indicate that he came on strongest after his friend bungled the stream, gr...)

Where does he go from here? This was I think instead of entering the WBSS, if my understanding is correct he did have the option to go in as if nothing else a reserve but chose to put all his eggs in this basket. Terrific effort, but came up short...and now all the best in the division are tied up in either tourney bouts or title fights/eliminators against each other for the foreseeable near future... So he's kind of just left out in the cold? Still ought to remain in the rankings (he was WBC #3 and Inoue #9 heading in) but...
