It's weird, he seems so accepting of the result, even contrite as though he didn't put on a good performance (he did) - usually in these situations the journeyman fighter in his shoes who lost a bitterly close fight to the undefeated youngster in their big break would be rationalizing convincing themselves they got screwed.

He's a class act. I could do without the constant almighty name-dropping (if Yap and I ever struck up a real life friendship we would need to keep it 100% boxing talk all the time. in addition to being a huge Jesus freak the guy is a rabid Duterte supporter ) - but yeah. Class act.

3-0 is a unanimous decision (3 judges to 0 judges) 2-1 is a split decision 1-0 is a majority draw etc

Ah but I saw someone in here post the same thing during the fight. I started to think it was Takuma's new nickname or something and wondered the significance...

edit: I'm an idiot, it was to announce unanimity among the judges when they announced open scoring, obviously.

So will the "Battle of 24 year old Ryos" be included on Fuji's tape delay broadcast on Sunday?

I kind of want to see that as much as the Inoue vs. Yap missing rounds..

I sincerely doubt it lol, if Yap-Inoue ended early by stoppage they’d probably show it, but they usually only allot around an hour or so segment to show the fights from that night.

Bugger all chance of the Ryo's being shown, they MIGHT show Kuwahara given the fight lasted a minute but still doubt that. The whole way Fuji and TBS do these is madness.

Wow, young Sagawa had to weather a storm before turning it around. Would love to see this in full.

    Round 1: 10-9 Inoue
    Round 2: 10-9 Inoue
    Round 3: 10-9 Yap
    Round 4: 10-9 Inoue
Round 5: 10-8 Inoue (BS knockdown call)
    Round 6: 10-9 Yap
    Round 7: 10-9 Yap
    Round 8: 10-9 Yap
    Round 9: 10-9 Yap
    Round 10: 10-9 Inoue
    Round 11: 10-9 Inoue
    Round 12: 10-9 Yap

114-113 Inoue; not a clear Inoue win but I think he did enough, although I wouldn't argue against a card in Yap's favor. An argument could be made that Yap won the entire second half of the fight. It would have been a draw on my card if it wasn't for the BS knockdown call, where Yap was basically pushed off-balanced as he fell to the ropes after missing a punch followed by Inoue landing a punch on his shoulder. Yap started showing a sense of urgency afterwards, throwing some sharp shots early but a lot of it was being blocked and Inoue was outworking him. He started throwing way more in round 6 and was getting better of his undefeated opponent. Yap was the harder puncher in there and at times he couldn't miss with his right hand and check left hook. I was surprised that Inoue didn't suffer knockdowns when Yap landed some of these big, flush shots, especially since he has been dropped before by Saludar and Geraldo. Inoue showed a decent arsenal offensively with some sharp counters as Yap came in. Very good tactical fight. Inoue's counterpunching in rounds 11 and 12 won him the fight on my card.
