I never knew Steward cornered Breland, though I believe I've seen some speculate what Steward "could" have done with Breland. You can see his improved use of the jab in this bout, Breland was still only 28 here and looking to "come back" for the 2nd or 3rd time. This content is protected Some really interesting footage, and a solid fight. You can see how the tough Vaca troubled other top guys of the time like Terry Norris and Lloyd Honeyghan, and picked up wins over faded names like Cuevas and Mamby. Just like Aaron Davis, who also defeated Breland, Jorge Vaca picks up a lot of facial damage before getting the stoppage. Breland was a damaging puncher. Also a young and slick looking Goosen here with the pre and post fight interviews. Anyone else get that nostalgia feeling watching stuff like this?
Every time I watch a Breland fight now, I see Deontay Wilder. You can tell how much of an impact Breland has had on Wilder. Deontay gets sloppier than Breland tended to do, but they fight much the same way. Breland uses the jab more in this fight. He should remind Wilder to do the same.
