    Ok not really :D Be interesting to know what he weighed for this bout . I just hope Mark can find a decent job to support his family much like Kerr did and go quietly into the night........

    UFC Hall of Famer Mark Coleman hasn't competed in a legit MMA fight since he was choked out by Randy Couture at UFC 109. What you see above is Coleman performing in a worked MMA-style wrasslin' match at the IGF Genome 13 event back in September against Shinichi Suzukawa (who will be appearing against Bob Sapp on the Dynamite!! 2010 card). The thing is, this particular work was supposed to be worked in Coleman's favor. We'll let Phil Baroni tell the story:

    "It was supppose to be a pro wrestling match. It was suppose to be 3 min.
    Coleman was suppose to win. The fat ****ing douch scum bag didnt do the match the way it was suppose to be. That film was eddited. The Fat didck was suppose to tap from a head lock. He would not and kept rope escaping. Coleman squeezed hard a few times and burnt him self out trying to get the guy to tap.

    Welcome to pro-wrasslin Coleman! How ironic that a former Pride and UFC heavyweight champion had a work turn into a shoot and wound up losing. Back in the day the heavyweight champion of the world had to know how to really wrestle and fight to keep guys from shooting on him and trying to steal the belt. Ric Flair. Verne Gagne. Lou Thesz. These were all old school wrestlers that could shoot when they needed to. I remember stories of Japanese wrestlers trying to shoot on Flair all the time when he was in Japan.

    What the hell is wrong with the other guy?

    I mean was he just trying to ruin his career by not following instruction, or ruin his life by trying to get Coleman to actually fight him?

    Coleman's been pro Wrestling for years as has Randleman. They only do minor shows though and most of their works tend to be in Japan.

    I'd like to see him fight low level guys and inexperienced guys. That would get him 3 or 4 more bouts, some paydays and maybe a win or two. During that time I'd hope for him to set something up - coaching, commentating, open a gym etc

    I'm not anti UFC/Dana but I wasn't happy with the way he was cut.

    Coleman didn't even make the main card when he fought Bonnar. But when they matched him with Couture it was top of the bill. Just goes to show how the UFC treats its fighters. Especially veterans like Coleman who helped build this sport.

    Yeah, but Coleman looked good in fighting Bonnar and the fight with Couture made sense. I'd been looking forward to that fight since it was first announced a decade ago. There was a natural rivalry between those two. That was a headlining fight. Coleman just didn't put up a fight. He was totally outclassed by Couture. Fighters get cut after poor showings. It's the nature of the beast. No one says it's fair but it happens.

    Looked good? He looked like a fossil that was going through the motions. And if that was prime Coleman it wouldn't have been a contest as far as im concerned. Couture always struggled with big strong heavys and that's exactly what Coleman was. Although under PRIDE rules he clearly would have had more advantages than in the UFC. Either way it makes no sense for a fighter to not even make TV and be way down on a prelim and then to be a head-liner. Thats ridiculous.

    Couture handled Coleman's number one man Randleman - in his prime. He would have done the same to Coleman because mark would have gassed and then Couture would have pounded his face in.

    Seemed to me that Coleman was just along for the ride in his last UFC stint to earn a few retirement dollars. Only explanation for putting him in with Tito and Randy, two of the bigger PPV draws out there. Shogun was coming back from surgery and almost looked as gasses as the Hammer did

    How on earth are you going to compare a prime 245lb Coleman who was almost as strong as Kerr with a 205lb Kevin Randleman?
    Like i said under PRIDE rules Couture wouldnt have stood a chance. Under UFC rules the fight would have been very even. Under the old UFC Vale Tudo rules its goodnight Couture!!

    As has been s aid Colemans been doing pro wrestling for a good few years, he worked for DSE's Hustle promotion if I remember correctly.

    I'd guess if he'd had the mind to do it Coleman would have been well capable of kneeing this guys skull in but knew that wouldnt be a wise move.

    As far as Randy/Coleman goes that would have been a very interesting match 8 years ago, personally I'd edge slightly towards Mark but its hard to be sure. Couture did beat Randleman but if you actually watch the fight it was far from a handling, Kevin outwrestled Randy and rocked him badly before gassing and getting finished. Coleman might be famous for gassing back in the mid 90's but that was in his super roided days(I'd gue he was around 260lbs) fighting in matchs with much longer time limates, it wasnt a problem he suffered form in his Pride days.
