To even keep bring up about Mark fighting Alex at this stage is insulting, not to Mark but to Alex. I don't understand how people say 'Marks a pretender, all talk no walk etc' but then in the next breath say he should be fighting Alex again? With the guys Alex has been fighting and putting away I would doubt Alex would even want to fight Mark at the moment. I could be wrong? It would be a step backwards would it not for Team Leapai at the moment? I like every Aussie boxing fan would love to see these two guys fight again one day but there has to be something in it for both of them and don't see that happening for a while yet. The risk v reward doesn't add up for either of them and like it or not that is what professional boxing is all about.
Totalpac...... marks refusal to fight alex is an example of marks 'all talk no walk policy'. alex is a man that mark has previously drawn with, alex also has a profile and ranking that mark supposedly desires, and im pretty sure a fight with alex could be arranged... of course, mark would be expected to turn up and actually FIGHT.....THAT is the stumbling block.
Tend to agree with this post....Alex has been busy while Mark has been out for 2 years....its not even on the cards If Mark proves that he wants to become active and win some good fights then down the tract they may fight again :good
Agreed. What I don't get is why no attempt to get an Aussie based HW was successful? Was there any attempt to get a last minute match when this fight looked doubtful? Has Ben Edwards been called?
Is this a joke....I days notice to fight Mark...you cant be serious right? If only lefty was here...he could explain how boxing works for you.
Huh? You have never heard of a last minute match up Ash? Never heard of a promoter calling around trying to save a card? atsch If you read carefully I simply asked - didn't suggest.
It's hard enough to find someone at short notice against a kid with 3 fights under his belt, let alone a good Heavyweight.
True. Maybe locking in a decent match with an Aussie HW from the outset may look better than being left at the altar in hindsight.
It would have ended up only about 12 hours notice (blood results came in that morning is my understanding) plus you have to make it to Perth. So yeah, only options were pull the whole card or go ahead as it did. For me the only 'Aussie' fights I would like to see Mark in are Meehan Leapai Tua
