That seems to have happened fast

  5. He was throwing insults on twitter to De Mori so this comes as no shock. Waste of time, but no shock.

De Mori has the build and record that will mean casual fans actually think he might be half decent.

Is he? He's fought literally nobody with a ranking, owns a nothing title and is a prime example of how the WBA ranking system is ridiculous. Fight nobodies on small halls and get ranked number 8. Boxrec ranks him 118, which I'd wager is more accurate.

If Haye does fight again he will get a lot of British hype and make a lot of money off British boxing fans with fights against Joshua, and possibly a Fury (perhaps Hughie rather than Tyson).

It's a wise move by Haye, better than his bullsh!t "I wont fight past my 31st birthday" promise, that he broke already anyway when he fought Chisora.

I don't see the attraction in Haye as a heavyweight, but he's very popular with fans and can generate a lot of money with his media 'friendly' way and the perception that he's an A-level fighter, which he really never was among the big boys.

I'm not at all ashamed to admit I've never heard of Mark De Mori.
I recognize a few of the names on his record, mostly bums from the late 1990s.

Poor fight. If he has anything left he should take De Mori out easily. If he struggles he may as well give up.

I was hoping for Scott at least he has just beaten Thompson and is a decent size.

Haye has cherry-picked him for a reason, to score that spectacular early KO.
Fans get really excited by that kind of thing.

After that Haye should take on someone beatable who can give him some rounds, but he'll probably angle for a big fight with Joshua for the summer.
He'll want to get Joshua before Joshua develops too much.

Of course, the picture could well change with a couple of BIG "IFS".
    IF Tyson Fury beats Wlad.
    IF Dillian Whyte beats Joshua.

Fury might actually have more reason to consider Haye again if he loses to Wlad, rather than the more unlikely if he wins.
So "IF" Joshua's people delay the Haye fight, Haye might be better off turning to a beaten-by-Wlad Tyson Fury.

Haye will always take the easiest route for the most money, with as few fights as possible. It's just impossible to know exactly what that route is just yet.
