Mark Freaking "too sharp" Johnson... Filthy, Filthy, Filthy

Whitaker, Johnson, Mijares, Guzman, 130/135 Mayweather types. The 147 Mayweather style was more in line with Calderon, but of course, had multi-dimensions to work with when in need, so you still can't classify him as the Calderon type.

Whitaker is the best example of this. High workrate, making you miss like crazy, at all ranges. Far more impressive than any type of 'running' defensive style, even though I appreciate what some of them do also.

Well, if he had opposition that could provide stylistic oddities with competence, we wouldn't be talking about him as anything more than one of the better fighters at 108 and under, not like they do now. He doesn't have as much to work with as real defensive pure boxing geniuses, fact.

 

If Pac thought he was getting schooled by Chatchai Sasakul, he wouldn't have believed how tightly Johnson would have packed his ****.

 

The Juarez fight was the one I saw quite a while back, though I've not seen the other two. I thought of him honestly more as an attacking fighter with very good power and speed, though not as technically sound as someone like Arbachakov. Still very impressive.
