Mark Hunt vs Roy Nelson anyone?

Asked that on Twitter the night of the fight. But Roy has a very good ground game and that is where Mark would get beat. Just make sure they dont fight in Denver or we will have a Mark Hunt vs Ben Rothwell all over again.

 

I quick like the idea of Hunt vs Big Foot.

 

Last person i want to see big Roy in is with someone who hits like truck

I would like to see him against the winner of Pat Barry/Lavar Johnson, but that fight is in May, and I have a feeling they aren't going to be giving Hunt a pure striker. Roy is coming off of a loss, and generally he would get matched up with another guy coming off of a loss.

Hunt/Struve makes sense, as Struve has a strong ground game but usually seems to be involved in striking wars. His striking against Herman looked improved, but he still completely lacked a jab.

 

Do we really need to see Roy take another pummelling?

I say Stefan Struve. He's resilient and a good grappler so would test Hunt, but also vulnerable enough that MARKUUU HUNTUUUU could spark him.

Then, if he wins take on Pat Barry, who will beat Johnson in an entertaining fight IMO. Joe will love that 'two K-1 level strikers' although Hunt has a massive advantage over Barry in that he was actually a class kickboxer. However, his grappling looked better against Rothwell, he was working with ATT (before Japan but that was due to acclimatising to the time difference, or rather not) and Barry's grappling/sub defence looked ace last time out.

Don't know how long Hunt can keep blasting suckers but it's brilliant as a fan since the Price days.

 

I also have a bad feeling that he could be cut the moment he loses to a top guy.

 

I dunno'. He's been in a couple of good fights recently, the Rothwell fight was sloppy but pretty fun and he scored a highlight reel K.O before that. He's been reliable, and Dana expressed great respect for Hunt wanting to fight rather than see out his contract.

I think it'll be down to his desire to continue when his run stops. He probably will. And then, he's a good test for prospects and a game, hard-punching opponent. And a given for Oz cards (he even tried to get on this one I think )

I think he'll get kept around after the next loss, whoever/whenever that may be.

 

Hunts got hands but Roys grappling should have him in fits.

 

Hunt has one of the best chins in the history of K1/MMA.

 

:deal Mad that Manhoef sparked him, I know he's a brutal mentalist but nowhere big as other guys that Hunt laughed at.
