I'd favor Ali, but Tunney was certainly capable of winning. Alot of times, too many absolutes get thrown out there considering none of these guys are ATG's by accident.

tunney may do better than bob foster - maybe last til the end. he didn't exactly defeat a peak dempsey but he was an intelligent fighter. i think his smaller size will be the deciding factor. ali win.

Guys, let me be the third man in the ring and separate you here for a moment. To the poster, here's what I say: I love minority opinions and believe they should be stated. Such opinions are often savaged on this site, so I applaud your guts for stating your view.
However, I think it's always a risk when we state for a FACT that an outcome is inevitable, especially one that can't possibly be proved. Someone stating such FACTS is essentially presenting themself as a rigid know-it-all, and will always get **** in return. I posted my belief a few weeks ago that Norton would beat Holyfield, but I can't prove it, it's just a theory and I could be wrong. One can make a great case for Holyfield.
So, gentle brothers, let's not fight over this horse****. Tunney-Ali would be a great fight. I'd pick Ali, but would love it if Tunney won. And someday in heaven I hope to see the bout. Until then, who the **** really knows what would happen?

    Sad thread.

Maybe based on some superficial similarities.

Only problemis that Ali was vastly superior in all of them, as well as bigger and more powerful.

I agree. Kenny was very skilled going forward, one of the more technically skilled HWs in thar regard. He was not good at fighting going backwards, though. Look at the right Foreman cathes him with, for example. There's a reason Young and Ali weren't caught out like that.

But give Norton a fighter he can chase and he's a nightmare.

    Lufcrazy, I am reely,,
    enjoying your pisstak
ing and applaud you for detective
    efforts:,,@

PS Like Unforgiven, I do think the smaller guys (including Tunney) present much more of a problem for Ali then any of the similarly sized of bigger HWs.
