Obviously BJS wanted Davison in his corner too , otherwise he wouldn’t have been there. Also maybe if they were trying to get Tibbs Snr out there at the last minute it might suggest all was not 100% well in camp , or it may just have been some type of situation where If they couldn’t get Jimmy out there then Ben would join the corner .
I do think it’s a bit petty all trying to be the hero who pulled BJS from the fight.

I think MTK had him put there late in the day, he was nowhere near the camp until fight night. Under orders to be there I think, he's their inside man.

    Its all nonsense.

Ben Davidson is a nobody in the sport really, just living off his short journey with TF.

The fight is over, it went the way most thought it would, end of and move on.

BJS looked completely shook in the corner. No way he wanted to fight on.

Saunders QUIT. Not in a way he deserves abuse and criticism but he did, he quit and there’s no shame in that. He was in against lb for lb best and took a beating from the first bell, every single shot was hurting. Yeah he had one or two good rounds but he got battered and his engine was done from the body shots. It was inevitable the stoppage was coming before that big uppercut landed.

A weird statement, though Tibbs is a respectful man and a good trainer. Tibbs is boxing through and through, did the right thing and couldn’t give a **** whether its negative or positive publicity for him / BJS - all he’s bothered about is the boxing. Ben Davidson didn’t need to get involved, he was in the corner (I must admit I was surprised seeing him there fight night) and his talk since the fight has been unnecessary, but as others have touched on, I’m guessing he’s touting for the job back with his growing stable.

100% spot on Scissors. Canelo knew he had him after the first 2 rounds. The rounds BJS won were more to do with Canelo just throwing power shots and knowing it was a matter of time. I'm not criticising Saunders as he done better against Canelo than many before him however there are levels to this game.

I may well be wrong here but reading between the lines it sounds like they perhaps wanted Jimmy Tibbs out there and for whatever reason it wasn't able to happen so given BJS and MTK's ties with Davison, he ended up in the corner on the night.

I think everyone in the corner pretty much knew Billy wasn't being sent out in the following round... hell even Canelo knew and has since said as much.

If you watch the footage, when BJS sits down the on the stool there is a solid 15/20 secs of Davison talking into Billy's ear and from what Davison has since said, he told Billy that he'd done great but given the injury they were pulling him out and that's why he shook his head no... as in he wanted to go on. He wasn't shaking his head at Tibbs saying "do you want to continue" or anything of the sort.

By the time Tibbs then had a chance to converse with Billy in the corner, BJS was already aware through Davison what was going to happen.

Davison was in the corner because he is Saunders long time friend and trainer. Tibb's called off the fight on Davison's instructions and that is what he is trying to cover up. BJS could not fight on anyway in that condition but the spat between Tibbs and Davison is over who was wearing the trousers that night.

    Tibbs has called Kugan out.

His bent legs will be bricking it going to that gym tomorrow.

Billy Joe could easily put out a statement clearing all of this up and save his relationship with Mark Tibbs. Seems to me that for some bizarre reason, BJS is happy to just sit back and let Ben Davison try and make a fool out of his head trainer.

On second thoughts, BJS is a POS and hasnt got a loyal bone in his body so why am I surprised at the way he's behaving.

It’s all a bit stupid, BJS quit and that’s the bottom line. He got caught with a huge shot from a good puncher and he wasn’t winning after that, Canelo raised his arms because he knew it and Saunders knew it too - it was done.

I don't think Jimmy Tibbs would have been eligible for a visa to the USA, due to his past.

I watched the clip again on DAZN and as you said you clearly see Davison talking to BJS's ear, during which and immediately after Billy shakes his head no.

The problem I have with this is that had Mark Tibbs not been in the corner, Billy Joe Saunders may have gone out for the next round.

Whatever Mark Tibbs said was actually the voice of reason, and when he put the towel on Billy's head, psychologically BJS knew it was over and actually looked relieved.

Mark Tibbs saved Billy Joe Saunders from a serious injury and until he actually makes a champion from the ground up Davison is a level below other UK trainers such as Tibbs, Booth, McGuigan, Simms and Rob Mccracken.

For me Davison is in the Paddy Fitzpatrick category, although because of his youth he has a lot more potential, yet he could quite easily become the next Tunde Ajayi if he does not reign in his mouth and ego.

Saturday, may actually be Davison's day of reckoning.

Mark Tibbs is old school like his Dad and can walk his talk.

I remember when Chisora threw the table at Whyte, watch Mark's reaction compared to the likes of Hearn and Adam Smith, he was ready to have it with Chisora there and then.

The levels of disrespect being shown to Mark Tibbs are outrageous.

The man has done nothing wrong, got BJS in the best shape of his life and just gave an honest interview after the fight like almost every trainer does after any big fight.

This was a huge fight, a PPV fight against the P4P number 1 and that moron Ben Davison says it's "disrespectful" to talk to IFL, Behind The Golves, Boxing Social very quickly and give them a few words after the fight?

GTFO, Davison needs to stfu, he is sniffing around fighters looking like Adam Smith in heat, Haney had to go on social media and clarify his Father is his main trainer because Davison is trying to wriggle in there.

Davison is just blagging it, he is a well known backside kisser, says all the right things and weasels his way in to fighters camps.

He is living off his time with Fury, if he was that great Fury would still have him in camp or as his trainer, John Fury said what Davison was all about.

Also BJS would have just had him as his trainer instead of Tibbs, he just got in BJS' ear and got himself in the corner.
