This was supposed to be the greatest and most anticipated fight of our generation. The marketing and promotion so far however have been a joke:

    - Amateurish "at last" documentary on HBO. Are they seriously trying to hype the fight with this wanna-be-dramatic piece of youtube journalism?
    - Tickets not moving, they can't sell at the prices they thought they could
    - Outside of boxing news media, mainstream media is not paying attention to the fight any more than other Floyd fights.
    - Floyd in particular has not been busy promoting the fight at all. In interviews he seems disinterested, talks about retirement. If this is about legacy, why does he not seem to care to get as many viewers as possible?

What did you expect? You got a lead promoter who has never promoted anything. Its like watching would be engineers trying to build a bridge.

So you're saying you didn't like HBO documentary. OK. That's your opinion

You mean brokers bought the tickets and marked them up like 100x? How is that the promoters fault?
What are you talking about? The fight has been promoted on every single major news outlet. Do you want the mainstream to talk about it 24/7?
Again look at your agenda, bashing floyd. Yet Pacquiao is the one talking retiremeent win or lose. Floyd has one more fight left. Floyd has done the majority of the promotion in the US. Pacquiao gave a half assed media workout session where he tapped the mitts for 10 seconds.

This fight sells its self, but with the insane ticket prices is kind of a joke. I love boxing, but the average even the above average person can't afford those prices. And even if they could that's a lot of money for any event.

Maybe they over estimated the demand for the non boxing public want to see the fight. They are talking over 3 million ppv buys, without the big promotion push they may not reach that.

What did you expect? The Mayweathers did not want to see this fight, and don't want anyone else to either.

HBO at last was awesome personally for me .... better than Showtimes INSIDE. hich just consisted of clips we have seen 100 X before.

Why put millions into marketing the fihgt when it cant reallt sell any more than it will every boxing fan in the world already know when/where the fight it ... who is showing it and how much so why waste more money if u cannot generate any more from it ... doesnt make sense.

Both fighters know they can lose this fight hence the quietness ... both down to business both donna say something that can be used against them after the fight. to me the tension is startin to build. The week before the fight its all we will hear is the fight... besides the amount of nenonsense of the fight being posted on forums around the world is enought o see me over a lifetime do i really wanna see any more it ......lets just wait 2 weeks and GET IT FUKN ON !!

I think the 'fight sells its self' is a cop out, its a joint promotion, yet Mayweather Promotions is the lead promoter and because of this Uncle Bob has left them to it and its failing.

Mayweather Promotions is a vanity project for Floyd and his Acolytes, this event is far too big for them, and it doesn't matter how big the thing you start with is you can always make it bigger, that's what promotion is no?

Unless of course a September rematch is in place, then this is a stroke of genius, two huge promotions in four months would lead to fatigue within the buying public.

You're right, I should have bashed Pacquiao equally. Yet Floyd the household name here in the US and I expected him to do more for marketing this fight. Pacman is a foreigner and I didn't expect him to carry the weight marketing this supposed "fight of our generation".

I didn't mean to bash Floyd, I am a bit disillusioned with what the marketing and promotion turned out to be. As it stands now this is not a "mega fight". This is just another random Floyd fight. A big purse yes, but the mainstream hype is not bigger than it was for Floyd vs. Canelo.

they just want to bash floyd and TMT.

when you ask them what's wrong they will say "not enough promotion".
