i kinda wanted Tate to revenge her loss to kaufman but Tate Coenan intrigues me too. when i read she was fighting Coenan about a week ago i knew she was losing this fight.
Credit to SF, the women is setting them apart from the UFC but I'll never enjoy womens MMA in the same way as men because they simply cannot perform on the same level and I want to see the absolute best. In Kaufmann, Coenen, Cyborg, Gina etc they have found women who can actually fight so it isn't a side show.
Slightly off topic. The best Muay Thai tourney iv ever seen was a womens tourney at the Seni Expo. It was straight bad ass. The UFC stand had no one on it. Pretty much every other stand was bare and there was around 500 people around one stand cheering on these Muay Thai girls. Of course its difficult watching the fairer sex knock seven bells out of each other but at least SF aren't as dogmatic as the UFC/Dana who point blank have no interest in women's MMA. These women in SF can throw down and they're all legit.
Congrats for Coenen I know Kaufman seems like a nice girl but shes so ****ing boring IMO glad to see her tap and not have to sit through her fights agian or a big Strikeforce card.
She is a good ambassador for the sport - a more complete fighter and personality than Carano (who was just a pretty face with T&A, let's be honest). I'm glad to see her claim the title for NL.
I felt the same way about Kaufman (even the fight with the infamous slam was, up to that point, a stinker). :yep
I was also glad to see Coenen win. Kaufmann just sort of rubbed me the wrong way. She rarely finished fights and I read a few of her interviews where she seemed to have opinions about MMA that far surpassed he achievements.
