Tito was troubled by lateral movement because he had to reset to punch. But this problem was much more pronounced when he went up in weight. He wasn't nearly as plodding at welterweight. The style of fight to beat Tito was demonstrated by De La Hoya, other than the fact that he completely ran the last 4 rounds. Starling didn't fight that kind of fight. Starling didn't have as good a jab as Oscar. Starling's main form of defense was upper body movement and a peak a boo defense. I think Tito's power would blast through that defense. I agree it's a winnable fight for Starling but think you underrate Tito a bit.

Starling doesnt have the intestinal fortitude to win a fight of this magnitude.

First time he made in onto national television, was against rising star, 14-0 Curry who was fighting with the flu. Donald made it as easy as poosible for marlon and he did not jump on him.

Tito will win comfortably on pts

This post right here represents how underrated Tito Trinidad has become over the past couple of years, especially the highlighted part. People have this idea that just because Tito got shut out by Winky Wright that Tito's skills are like Margarito's for example. I pick Tito to win this fight by either late TKO or by UD, but I'll pick Tito by TKO just based off of principle.

if nassim richardson (no plaster) with starling , then starling wins by decision. trinidad like margarito and maybe also JCC is not a fountain of talent. the plaster made his record look like it did.
after caught cheating , one remains guilty (in every case) unless proven otherwise.

Trinidad isn't gonna beat Starling at 147......... No way, Jose............... Trinidad never had the metal that a peak Donnie Curry had at 147 from 1983 to 1985.......... Starling dropped 2 fights to Curry when Curry was on fire at 147.......... A peak 1984 Curry was a very, very good 147 pounder who was intense....... If Starling could hang tuff 2 X with a peak Curry in dropping two decisions, he'd therefore SCHOOL Trinidad all the way at 147........ Trinidad would never land any serious wild & telling blows on a slickster like Starling........... Christ, even a peak Michael Nunn had problems with an aging 158 lb. Starling in '90 on HBO........... Starling beats Trinidad by a wide decision......... Cheers...

starling had a titanium plated iron jaw the fact he went the distance with murderous hitters like curry and nunn tells you all u need to know about his chin, he went up 2 devisions to fight nunn (plz dont tell me tito hit harder at 160 then a prime Michael Nunn)Tito doesnt have a chance in hell of dropping him

If Nunn sat down on his punches, he could hit a bit.

Nunn was a serious dude at 160 from 1987 to 1991.......... That was Nunn's best overall............. He could punch well enough to command respect........ His skills & speed were insane at 160............. Nunn lost focus after being wasted by Toney......... Nunn was never the same after '91............. but yes, he could box and punch........... Screw Kalambay; ask Franklin Tate for proof........ Tate took a serious ass-kicking from Nunn in '88........ YO, WICKED!!

Starling of '87 makes Trinidad of '97 look like a dick at 147........ Word......

I liked starling and tend to think People overate Ti.to. However I think Starling would go into a defensive shell after tasting Tito offensive arsenal, i do think he has the tools to outbox tito,However he tended to underachieve at times
