He was still there and fighting and he was still a good fighter. Not what he was, but who is. Remember, this was only 2 1/2 years after the Curry fight. Hearns 2 1/2 years after he won the title was not even when he knocked out Duran. It is funny how excuses always come up when a guy loses, but when he wins he is the greatest. They did that with Roberto Duran.

Magic Man was his best against aggressive fighter's. As the Cobra and southpaw Pedro Vilella showed he had difficulties with slick boxer's. MM loses to all three on pts.

    Keep telling yourself that.

His style was made to order for Starling. He loved when guys came to him. It is true that Honeyghan was a shell after Marlon beat the Shi@ out of him.

forget that he was made to order bullsh*t. Lloyd shouldnt have even been approved to fight.

Curry easily whipped Starling, proved it twice, and one of them with Curry sick with the flu and STILL won

while Lloyd did what Marlon never could, practically ripping Curry's head off. Curry was never the same after

Marlon beats Floyd and Pernell in tough fights. He loses a competitive match to Leonard. He would also give Thomas Hearns fits, if some of that sparring session info was true.

Leonard beats him. He gives Pernell and Floyd tough fights because he's a natural 147 pounder and tough as ****, whereas they had to grow into Welter.

I believe the sound advice the Ragamuffin man got from his corner was “Make yourself scarce, Loyd.”

    Pretty hilarious.

    At BEST, 1-2.

He's not beating Whitaker, and he has literally no shot in Hell against Leonard.

Meaning, his only legit chance is against Floyd, and I do think prime Starling would be very difficult for Floyd.

The sparring session rumor I always heard is that Hearns broke Starling's jaw in sparring.

True, but up until that point, it was said that Starling dominated Hearns

He losses to all 3. But Leonard would be the only one capable of stopping him. I see Leonard making the ref stop the fight after he figures Starling out, and began to set down on his punches and land them with real bad intentions . The other two are natural Lightweights / Jr. Lightweights and are not known for their power .
