    No. Mayweather just didn’t want to put the work in to lose two more pounds. I don’t think Mayweather had a fight he thought he might lose.

    Floyd was just coming out of "retirement" so I give him a small pass for not making weight. Scared is a strong word, but yeah, Floyd's record means too much to him. He knew he wasn't going to make weight and if he did the weight loss means he would be sub-optimal. Still, I don't see any scenario where JMM beats Floyd. Floyd doesn't use his mass to overwhelm fighters, he's a boxer.

    Scared? He "missed" weight by two pounds. Such circumstances were covered in the contract.

    he sure didnt fight like he was scared of losing...
    that was one of the most dominating performances I ever seen between two great champions.
    somehow I dont believe those 2 pounds were the difference

    a very overlooked performance on May's resume

    He didn't "miss weight". This was covered in the contract.

    that fight was 11 years ago. both men have long since retired. let it be and try to enjoy life. we're all here on borrowed time. you could wreck your car tomorrow for all you know, just like Spence

    "The fight was contracted as a welterweight fight with an agreed upon weight of 144 pounds. However, there were pre-negotiated weight penalties built in."
