Scar, at the lower weights, 2-3 pounds difference spells a lot. So basically, if you asked JMM to jump another 9 pounds, that jump is not significant? Boxing is about risk assessment and in this fight, the issue that no one can seem to agree is what is the acceptable weight jump that JMM could do or what is the acceptable risk exposure for JMM. Those that say that the fight is barely even with the weight just of minor significance would lead us to conclude that 9 pounds gain or two division jump is acceptable. On the other hand, those that say that it is a mismatch or the favor tilted too much in favor of Mayweather, finds that that jump is too much. I actually belong to that group and I do not even know if that is the majority sentiment. THose fears might be misplaced after the fight because it might end up as competitive fight afterall. But if I am doing risk assessment study on this fight, then you know the stand.
why do i need proof?, asking your opponent to come to a higher weight , jumping 2 divisions instead of meeting him halfway when as you say he can? JMM deserves everything if he overcomes this. :happy:happy
When your opponents challenges you, shouldn't the opponent come up? It's not 2 divisions. It's 1 and half. :deal Floyd weighs 146 right now. He's cut 8-9lbs before to make weight at 130 or 135. Im sure he could do 6lbs at 140.
When an opponent of the same weight challenges you, say BS, then go for the smallest challenger 1 and half divisions lower. i get it.
Who challenged him? Mosley? He was offered a fight and turned it down. Floyd shouldn't be fighting at 147 anyway. He should be at 140.
Those people ducked him a long time ago, and is willing to fight him now. Its not like they're on a different division, or even retired, Pbf avoiding them will even out everything. They ducked him, he ducked them.
its about what weight your body has grown into and is accustomed to. If JMM had already fought 2 or 3 fights at WW against nobodies and won those fights, noone would be complaning. Pac's debut was at Jr. Flyweight. Does that mean that he is smaller than Donaire who's debut was at Jr. Bantamweight?
