Marquez was also dominated at WW by mayweather but he also jumped 2 divisions. Saying that Marquez would have no chance in beating the likes of cotto, clottey or margarito is something that holds no merit as the only time Marquez went to WW he took on arguably the best fighter in the World, while pac took on beaten fighters.

The problem is it is not boxing savvy that Cotto lacks it is an inability to handle extreme pressure. This is not something Marquez brings to the table. Cotto is slower but he has great timing. I can't see a counterpuncher overwhelming him unless they were much much sharper than him (Floyd, for example, but even then I give Cotto a puncher's chance early to win a few rounds). And I think Tony is just too big for JMM, he doesn't look physical at welter like Pac does, who can bring pressure speed and movement that JMM does not offer with his style, but who can tear apart sloppy comeforward guys or hurt most lightweights.

JMM does not create pressure, he uses it against his opponent. Cotto would have a field day stylistically, in my opinion. I am sure Cotto actually hits harder than Pac does, just not as frequently and without the overwhelming style.

 

Can't wait to see how he looks against Katsidis ..This is going to be a fun figt to watch ..I hope he does get a 3rd crack at Manny the 1st 2 were good fights why not a 3rd ? Better than anything else he's been doing as of late ..
