    1. Julio Cesar Chavez - no disputing that. Narrowly loses to a prime Whitaker having moved up in weight + no longer in his prime. That's boss.

    2. Salvador Sanchez - definitely the BEST fighter to come out of Mexico.

    3. Vicente Salvidar (Legra, S.Ramos, Laguna)

    4. Juan Manuel Marquez (Beat prime Pacquiao at least 3 times, Gainer, Barrera, Draw with Chris John - a complete monster even up to the age of 39 years old)

    5. Ruben Olivares (Huge puncher, so many title fights, J.L Ramirez, Rose)

    6. Marco Antonio Barrera

    7. Erik Morales

    8. Miguel Canto

    9. Carlos Zarate

    10. Ricardo Lopez

Marquez should not fight Pacquiao again, he already proved his point.

I'd like him to rack up some 140lb wins. He should fight Amir Khan and get a solid KO. Barrera couldn't dispose of Khan, Marquez should again go one ahead of Barrera.

:yep Nelson was pretty special too. About 1-2 yrs after Sanchez he brutally destroyed Cowdell and Gomez. He certainly didn't fight like his record suggested. Nelson also said Sal was the best he ever faced.

Didn't you just have MAB ahead of JMM/Morales a couple days ago? :huh

Camacho wasn't **** to Chavez, he walked right through him and Camacho only made it to the final bell because Chavez wanted to punish him all night instead of take him out.

JCC's win over Edwin Rosario was much more impressive.

I do have jmm as the goat Mexican. I feel quite confident justifying that position also.

I only have Floyd beating him in his career. I reckon he's a genuine atg at featherweight. I also think he's been the best sfw, lw and we in the world.

With hindsight he is probably also the best lww but he never proved it there.

Shame he didn't get the Garcia fight before Morales.

Of course it was. He walked through, annihilated, destroyed one of the hardest hitting Lightweights of the last 30 years. Poor Rosario had no idea what hit him, and he couldn't call on any of his previous experience to get him out of it. Chavez was a different breed.

Go ahead. Justify why you rank JMM above JCC.

4 victories on my cards over Pacman. victories on my cards over Norwood and John. Add to that victories over MAB, Salido, Diaz, Katsidis, Juarez, Peden, Casamayor, Gaynor, Agapito, Kote, Molina and plenty of others.

I'd also pick him to beat JCC anywhere from FW to WW.

Sure he never got the Morales fight but when EM moved up and the next best FW in Mab fought the best SBW in Pac, JMM went straight in for the winner and produced a boxing masterclass outside of the first round.

JCC is great, JMM is greater.

Feel free to justify the converse :good

What did JMM do at Featherweight that impressed you so much? His best wins at that weight include Manuel Medina, Orlando Salido, and Derrick Gainer. The Norwood and John blemishes also occured at 126lbs, although you scored the latter in favour of JMM. All things considered, I don't think he had a wonderful run at Featherweight. I'm not looking to get into the circumstances as to why fights with the big boys didn't come off, but they didn't, so we judge his Featherweight career for what it is.

You scored all four fights in JMM's favour? I'd be hard pressed to do that, even if I wanted to.

What fights have you seen of JCC? How does the fight pan out, in your opinion? Personally, having seen a great deal of both men at their best, I don't think there's many things that JMM does that JCC didn't do better. Chavez was the more consistent, more varied, and more accurate combination puncher of the two. It's ludicrous to think, isn't it, seeing at how combination punching is JMM's bread and butter. JCC was just better at it though. More punishing hitter, by far the greater chin, and more head and upper body movement would see him getting his clean and flush a whole less than JMM, in my estimation. Only one winner as far as I can see. Competitive enough to be interesting, I'd see it going the full distance, but not before we see JMM do his customary trip to the canvas on a few occasions.

His resume at fw is top class in my opinion especially because I don't have him losing a fight there and he faced somequality names. He spent nearly 3 years as the best fw by my books. The victories over John and Salido obviously look much better with hindsight. Plus stylistically I think he was strongest at fw and there aren't many I pick over him at 126. How many of his fw fights have you seen?

Regarding the pac-jmm series the first 3 are razor close and upon first viewing I had the first 2 to Pac and the third a draw but the last 2 times I watched the trilogy I have Pac losing each. Not too fussed because they were all close and both men deserve great credit for the series.

Jcc is great. I just think that jmm is one of the very best combination punchers in history. His punches are accurate and sharp. He'll probably lose the first 4 or so rounds but he will find himself on top as his punches start to take their toll. Allowing for a round late on where Chavez lands a huge shot and drops jmm I say Marquez wins a 1 point 7-5 decision.

Rosario is my favourite performance of his, which is yours?

Since we're in the general it feels right to mix up the discussion with a bit of trolling so I'm gonna finish with this.

You wanna see how jmm v jcc plays out, just watch jmm v Diaz :good

I've seen his fights with Manny Pacquiao, Freddie Norwood, Johnny Walker, Manuel Medina, Derrick Gainer, and Victor Polo. Was JMM tremendously talented and hard to beat as a 126lbs fighter? Absolutely, no question, but did he beat enough names there or was he dominant enough to warrant being rated as among the very best to have ever campaigned at the weight. No. In fact, MAB arguably has the better resume at Featherweight, having saw off Erik Morales, Naseem Hamed, Johnny Tapia, Kevin Kelley, Paulie Ayala, and Enrique Sanchez. ...All former world champions.

I like to be measured when discussing things like this and not to shoot members down, so I'm not going to do that, but if anyone's going to lose the opening rounds it'll be JCC. He was a slow starter. He liked to feel his opponents out. JMM is one of the greatest combination punchers in history, but JCC was just better at it. Smooth. More accurate. More varied to both head and body. I see the fight being very competitive, great action, but JCC is going to finish most of the exchanges, and it's JMM who's going to be visibly effected by what's landing. JCC was a tough mother****er. JMM is too, he gets up, but JCC wouldn't have to get up. JMM can't hurt him at 135-147lbs.

He blitzed a very good fighter in Rosario, but his most aesthetically pleasing performance for me was against either Greg Haugen or Andy Holligan.

This could be misconstrued as trolling, but JCC would beat both Marquez and Diaz on the same night.

Mab didn't beat Morales on my card plus he was stopped by Pac. Does have some great wins though I agree. Jmm is inside my top 15 though I wouldn't be able to say where without checking my notes first.

I disagree, Chavez is a slow burner but jmm is notoriously slow against pressure fighters and there's not many better than chavez in that domain.

Chavez might hit harder but jmm is as fluid a combination puncher as they come. I agree that Chavez is better at head movement but I can't class him as a better combo puncher than jmm.

I don't think there's anyone I'd pick to beat them two on the same night tbh.

What was your scorecard? You don't go along with the idea Morales was robbed do you?

If JCC gets off to a fast start, there may be a stoppage after all.

Okay, perhaps saying JCC is a better combination puncher is a bit much, but he shortens his shots up better and thus is a better combination puncher at close quarters. JMM would have to keep it at a distance if he wants to get the better of the exchanges and I don't think he has the legs, strength, or mentality to do that.

    How about George Foreman?
