No they are about the same size...im not questioning that. What i am questioning or skeptical about is that JMM looked bad the last time we seen him above 140...period. His last outting above 140 the masses on here if not everyone thought he did not belong above 140...it had nothing to do with his opponent but everything to do with how JMM looked and performed above 140. But i guess the story now is he will make weight better....ok...i guess we will have to wait and see. I hope he does for his sake because Pac already looks good and performs excellent at this weight...advantage Pac right from the blocks in a match where every advantage is needed judging by how close their two previous fights were.
look, I say Marquez just has a different frame, and did not fill out like pac did. You fill out in your early 30's. By the time They first got it on, JMM had already filled out, and pac was pretty much just starting to. This in in my opinion a toss up, may the best man win. By the way, that is just science people, read a book, it is how our anatomy works. Ex. Lennox Lewis, grew massively through his career.
I think if he trains like he did for Katsidis and Diaz, there's no reason to suggest that he'll be blown away by Pacquiao. If he trains like he did for Mayweather, then, yeah, I think he has little chance but I don't think that will happen. For the Mayweather bout, he tried to add too much muscle. We all know it went wrong before he stepped into the ring and we saw the result of that. However, a 145lb Marquez, as he was against Katsidis, is a legitimate threat for Pacquiao. At that weight he isn't much weaker than Pacquiao, he has good speed, he hits hard and will be technically good enough to make this a very good fight.
Interesting you mention mass and weight. And your comment is idiotic. In the context of the human body, weight is directly proportional to mass. You can't gain weight without gaining mass. You increase your weight, you increase your body measurements. Weight is nothing but the pull of gravity on a person. How the **** can you make gravity exert more force on you if you don't gain more mass? Marquez weighs the same as Pac and he is actually taller than Pac. No matter how you look at it they are similar in size. Boxing match-ups are based on weight. Pac and Marquez will rehydrate at around the same weight. It's not like the JMM/Mayweather fight where Nacho said Floyd probably weighed around 160 on fight night... oh yeah, sorry. You actually think you are more knowledgeable than Nacho on such matters. :nut
Marquez is 38 people forget this. he will get a career ending beating. people that argue these two are the same size know exxactly why these two fight 2 weight classes apart!!! pac has been even more sucessful two weight divisions above. marquez is too old and will be too slow at the weight.
Even if they fight 2 different weight classes apart, it still doesn't erase the fact the they weigh the same on fight nights. It just happens that Pac campaigns in the higher divisions and Marquez chooses not to. *****s are now saying Marquez is now too old for Pac. But just 6 MONTHS ago, they were saying Pac is ducking Marquez for choosing Mosley over him.:huh
In real terms, Pac probably will have about 4-5 lbs more muscle than Marquez, but he's been outweighed by far more than that against bigger opponents over the last few years, and nobody has made an issue of that. Are we really going the route of "he's either going to be too big for his opponents and overpower them, or too small and outspeed them"? Really? Maybe we should clone Pac in the lab and have him fight himself, but then people would complain that he only fights people past their prime and point to Pac having a shitty last performance against Mosley as proof that Pacquiao cherry picked an old Pacquiao, lol.
If JMM and Pac are the same size then all those who insist Pac was drained in their previous fights must be idiots:think Or was JMM drained too?
If he weighed 144 on fight night in his last fight, and he weighs, say, 142 at the weigh-in against Pacquiao, his fight night weight would STILL be 144. I don't know why he would mysteriously be any slower or weaker. If anything, wouldn't he be STRONGER because he wouldn't have to deal with any dehydration issues? You HARM your body going down below your hydrated weight, so if Marquez has been weighing 144 on fight night the last few fights, that means he's dehydrating 10lbs. That's *never* a good thing. I expect him to be *stronger*, not weaker when he doesn't have to dehydrate 10lbs the night before.
Pacquiao is bigger than JMM by 3-4 lbs. When dehydrating trying to make weight those 4 lbs makes a lot of difference. That's four pounds of pure muscle Manny COULD have used back then.
Neither was drained, both were fighting in the weight class they should be fighting at 130 lbs..... Most know my stance on Pacquiao and his PED use. I actually believe that Marquez is naturally bigger than Pacquiao is. If you look at each of their body frames when they first fought at 126 lbs, Marquez frame looks bigger. His bone structure is bigger. But here's the thing. I believe Pacquiao has been juicing since the Morales victories. Pacquiao got alot bigger just by going up 4 lbs from 126 lbs to 130 lbs. My guess is that while he was a 130 lbs fighter, he put on significant lean mass and then would dehydrate to make 130 lbs. As he's move up higher than 130 lbs, he's had to rehydrate less, but he's also weighing more. For his Welter fights recently he's climbing the ring weighing at about 148 lbs. Marquez as a lightweight in his Juan Diaz fights officially weighed 135 lbs and then climbed the ring at about 140 lbs......only gaining about 5 lbs. It is only in this most recent fight that Marquez climbed the ring at 145 lbs vs Katsidis. Having for a while now contemplated moving up to 140 lbs, you can make an educated guess that coming in at 145 lbs for Katsidis was by design to see how his body felt at that weight vs a lesser fighter. My point is that in both Marquez and Pac's last several fights, they have not been climbing the ring at the same weight. Pac's been at 148 lbs, while Marquez has been climbing the ring at 140 lbs. thats an 8 lbs difference if you look at their last several fights. As most of you know, there is little doubt in my mind that Pacquiao's been juicing......and I dont think he'd be close to climbing a ring at anywhere near 148 lbs if he were'nt. He're is the lowdown point blank.... Marquez worked and likely climbed the ring PED free at 145 lbs vs Katsidis. I wonder how is body would look if he went on a PED regimen and could put on an additional 3 or 4 lbs of lean mass???? He'd surely be stronger and likely just as fast or faster than he was when he was PED free. We wonder what PED filled Marquez would look like and perform.....but we dont have to wonder that when it comes to Pacquiao. A fighter who at one point in the not so distant past we thought was naturally smaller than Marquez, now walks into the ring 8 lbs heavier than Marquez and carries that weight better than I've ever seen a midget carry it. The bottom line is that on fight Pacquiao will likely weigh close to 150 lbs while Marquez if he's smart will weigh no more than 145 lbs. The difference will be about 5 lbs of lean PED induced muscle mass between them. People dont like to point these facts out, but thats the bottom line!
