I don't really have much of a problem with the weight issue in this fight, its within a 4 or 5lb difference no big deal at the welterweight limits. Montiel came in like 6 lbs over donaire and donaire KTFO of montiel even though he was the bigger guy.

I kinda have a problem with guys cutting weight to get advantages and its a ***** move and not really healthy as the scientists(check your hypotenuses dude) have proven. I would rather see guys fight at their natural weight. Like marquez fighting Rios, or Pac fighting Bradley

It was 148lbs, I believe and apparently there were some arguments because Pacquiao added too much muscle and had sacrificed speed for power, which didn't suit him. On fight night against Mosley, he was lighter than 148 and could be below 145lbs for Marquez.

Pacquiao doesn't rehydrate though, that's the issue. He chooses to not dehydrate and fights at welter, whereas Marquez chooses to dehydrate and fights at lightweight.

However, on fight night, they are exactly the same and that's what counts.

You think it's a mismatch because Pacquiao isn't drained?

I kind of agree, in a way. We're seeing a much stronger, better version of Pacquiao than ever before and that's mainly because he killed himself too many times to make weight. He did so against Barrera and Marquez especially and looked poor, which is why so many people were predicting the end of his career around that point. I don't think he's too big for Marquez, but I think he may be too good when he's fit and strong.

Ariza, Roach and Pacquiao admitted he was too muscular for the Margarito bout and it hurt their speed. They won't be at 148lbs for Marquez.

Besides, if Marquez is 145lbs on fight night again, as he was against Katsidis, and Pacquiao is an unlikely 148lbs, it's only 3lbs difference, anyway. There was 4lbs difference for the second fight, when many people thought Marquez beat Pacquiao.

recent study shows Pac is bigger!

was that his wrist or his fist? :D

i wanted Pac to fight Bradley but im ok with JMM. it's just funny that the same posters who were saying "JMM has Pac's number" "Pac is ducking JMM so he fought old Mosley instead" are the same posters who are saying this is now a BS fight.

Yeah, it's odd. I'm surprised by how many people are against this bout. It makes a lot of sense.

I'd rather want JMM against Pacman than Bradley. We will surely have ourselves watching war with $10M rematch guarantee on JMM if he wins.

Bradley on the other hand... He will bring it until he gets hurt.

Pac would obliterate Maidana inside a couple of rounds. Way too fast of hand and foot, and far too crude for a fighter on Pac's level.

They are both ripped and muscular. There is probably very little difference in their body fat at 145lbs. Marquez looked great against Katsidis physically.
