Don't be silly. Marquez is fine. His aim was to get some good work so he can stay sharp. Besides, the European is an awkward fighter. JMM went for the KO late and nearly got it. Had there been another round Fedchenko would've gotten stopped for sure.

As for Rios the only thing he did wrong was fail to make weight. He did the best he could in the ring but Abril was all wrong for him. It doesn't take a genius to predict a plodding, limited boxer in Rios would get outboxed someday by someone who is slick, skilled, and has decent stamina. Rios got a gift decision but we shouldn't expect him to be angry about it. Blame it on the judges.

I really can't envision any circumstance with Fedchenko messing Pacquiao up even in sparring ...not even if Pac had the flu.

Fedchenko just doesn't bring a lot to the table - and knowing that, and not wanting to get Likar Ramos'ed, HE put on a disgraceful performance. Marquez made do and forced the fight as much as he could with those left rips to the body and forward pressure.

Rios is a disgrace for the weight issues and having no plan B.

Abril is a disgrace for his filthy style of holding and spoiling (but still deserved and got screwed out of a very wide points victory).

Fedchenko is a disgrace for being even more of a negative spoiler than Abril, and doing it just to survive without getting KTFO rather than try to win.


Marquez didn't disgrace himself at all. Mexicans are allowed to box, if they're ****ing amazing at it. Besides, he wasn't content to just get cute and play footsie with Fedchenko on the outside. He bore down on him and shredded his body, and tried to initiate exchanges. He was a boxer PUNCHER.
