So everyone is just going to ignore that post with the Schaefer quote? It's not Marquez asking for double, it's Marquez asking for about the same as the Mayweather fight with GBP getting their slice since they'd basically be handing everything over to Top Rank to run.

If JMM is asking for More than $4 million he's not getting it. Yes the man deserves more in my opinion but my opinion and every other fans opinion means **** when it comes to what a fighter makes in their fights. Given how much he made against Floyd which was $3.2 million....a Realistic number is $4 to 4.2 million. He'd be stupid to let his pride allow his biggest payday to fly out the window.

Beside Marquez getting the same cut he made vs Mayweather, it was a given that GBP would ask for a set step aside fee.

Did you think that GBP who has Marquez under contract would just offer Marquez' services without them making a dime?

Shane Mosley is a free agent, he's not under contract with GBP, so he's free to negotiate a fight with any promoter he wishes.

This is not the case with JMM, and so GBP is offering to step aside and let Arum handle a Marquez-Pacquiao fight all by himself...........but of course, anyone that offers to step aside has to be paid.......thats just how it works.

DLH went on record saying he'd be willing to step aside and let TOP RANK run the show if that meant JMM would get his final shot against PAC. He even went as far to say "I won't make a dime" off the fight.

The Mayweather fight with both Marquez and Mosley did virtually identical numbers......yet Arum is said to be offering Mosley 11 million, but feels that Marquez asking for just over 3 million is nowhere in the ballpark????

How the hell does anyone reasonably explain that?

Was GBP quoted directly as saying that, or was that Arum spewing lies again?

Explain to me why any promoter would step aside and not make a dime out of a fighter they have under contract?????

Shane is a bigger draw..but not by THAT much!:patsch Shane getting $11 million for the PAC fight is crazy. If that is true I understand why JMM is asking for more. Shane only got $7 million for his fight with floyd. At most Shane should be making around $8 Million for PAC...maybe a little more.

I will say that Arum and Shane seem to have a very good relationship which might be the reasoning he's getting the shot over JMM and why he's making so much more than what JMM would make.

No....I read it off of the Scene of boxing.... It was a direct quote from Oscar. He said that he felt JMM deserved the fight with PAC and if it took him stepping aside for JMM to get the shot he would.
