Marquez at #1 P4P is debatable but there is no reason for him to be behind Calzaghe!

The manner of how they won also matters? How many rounds did Diaz won against Pac???? Zero, nil. Contrast this to the JMM vs. Casa. Prior to the KO, JMM was just barely ahead of Casa, the same Casa who lost to Santa Cruz probably 8 rounds to 4.

Because the Forbes fight wasn't big enough to attract enough people to talk about it, Manny Pacquiao is a huge name in boxing and #1 P4P anyone who's a fan of boxing these days knows who he is, of course it will attract all sorts of topics whenever he fights.

The Roy Jones case as far as I remember had a lot of talk regarding that. I remember some people actually picking Ruiz to beat him and give him a "Heavyweight" boxing lesson. It was hardly pro-Jones before the fight as far as I remember based on a mixture of fan views and articles from good writers out there. It's only after the fight that people try to discredit that good one, pretty much the same will happen if Pacquiao takes care of DLH.

About health issues, I'm just saying that based on what the outcome MIGHT BE. If it's a negative/KO against Pacquiao then sure it will affect him health-wise, as you said pretty much the same way it could affect any fighter going into any fighter IF that happens. But as DLH being far bigger the damage caused might be worse, the same with RJJ's case or Spinks when he moved up and fought Holmes...etc, it's always risky in boxing no matter what the fight/weight is, just pointing that out and in Pac's case the way some people just straight out say "DLH BY BRUTAL KO" you know it's not an easy task because it's very obvious it isn't considering what weight this guy actually started at when he first got into boxing and where he is/was before moving to DLH.

Marquez beat Pac, so Pac refuses to fight him again. Marquez is a great champion, it's a shame he was cheated by the criminal judges.

This is a stupid post. If Marquez believes he beat Pac, why should he beg for rematch by going to the Philippines? Only losers beg for a rematch like Tyson begging one from Holyfield.

Pac refused to fight w/ Marquez because he was already engaged to fight in the 135 against Diaz for his legacy, being a 5 division title holder. Pac is just a boxer. He fights whoever is put in front of him by his promoter. Get that?

    1. Pacquiao
    2. Calzaghe
    3. JMM

For me, their respective places remain the same. I'll give credit to JMM over his win against Casa but not as far as having him switched places with Calzaghe at #2. Everyone knows that Casa is no longer in his prime, old at 37yrs and shot.

And by the way, Pacquiao's annihilation off diaz is more impressive than JMM's win even if diaz was the more inferior fighter of the 2 opponenets they have faced. I am referring to the manner of the win. It was a total blowout to say the least.

Pac fought a prime diaz who ko'ed sta.cruz, who by the way fought an impressive fight against casa. That is a clear indication that casa is already shot, as early as that fight even before katsidis....

Guzman only came to total prominence when he fought and beat Soto. Guzman by the time of the Pac-EM trilogy was still pretty green. He only emerged as one of the best by the late stages of Pac's run at 130 and by then Pac was fighting JMM, a guy as EQUALLY dangerous as Guzman and as EQUALLY a nightmare against Pac's style.

And I think you got the Valero situation mixed up. How can you say that Arum was just trying to say he "tried" to make the fight. No offense but that is just low, man. Pac wanted the fight, Valero wanted the fight, everyody from both sides wanted it, and Arum tried to make it possible, what more do you want?

And tell me, which venue do you think would sell the Pac-Valero fight more, Texas or Vegas?

Valero is a piece of crap who still needs to prove himself. Have him fight a-class fighters first..and he has to prove himself at 135 too.

Exactly. He has a puncher's chance but that has only 10% max of it happening. He's still levels below Pac.

Look, Valero and Guzman were champs at 130 when PAc was at 130 regardless of when you think he came into prominence. They called PAc out, and PAc kept fighting the old guys. 7 times he did this. He just moved to 135 and fought Diaz, so don't give me that jive about when Guzman or Valero came to prominence. They were available, and the fights weren't made. HBO showcased Guzman when he beat Soto, and Arum said, forget this, Guzman might just run from PAc. As far as Valero, Arum just wanted to go on record to show that he tried to make the fight with Valero. If PAc is popular, and has Mexican fans, he can fight in any large arena in Texas. PAc doesn't want it with Valero. Put your suit on PAc. Us lucky fans get to see Dlh-PAc and PAc-Hatton. GREAT! lol...yeah right.

No he didn't. I did a follow up on those comments. Valero was 19 years old when he said something to that effect...

All of PAc's fans say this...lol. Valero is the biggest threat to PAc at 135 now. Pac won't fight 1 fight at 135 watch...

These guys, Valero and Guzman, were still raw during that time. Morales, Marquez, and Barrera were the best fighters at that time and candidates for HOF. Valero can't fight in the US at that time and his manager, Honda, even told the press that his boy was not yet ready for Pac. It's not that Pac doesn't Valero. It's just that Valero was not yet prepared nor had a license to fight in US.

There is time for everyone. Let Valero line up if he can prove his worth in the lightweight division. Pac is now the king of lightweight.
